umm well, get that child some help, i have neighbors that steal,drunk drive, and rob people and hurt themselves, and their parents couldn't care less, i really feel bad for them cause they are only 12 15 and 18 it's horrible

I want to ans ur question, but first of all a THUG? Lets leave out the slang b/c thats where America goes wrong. It doesnt matter who or what the person was b/c robbing anyone is wrong but an 84yr old woman is dead wrong. Now maybe they should get a couple of years behind bars(2) and some community service and probation.
If she wasnt hurt there is no need to get carried away with punishment b/c we focus too hard on things that are easy and we dont(justice sys) focus enough on things that can change the world. Im done.

Death is way too much. I would say a month for every year old the man was. Then maybe probation when he gets out. Times are hard, and people are desperate for money, some people just cant conform to a 9-5 job, but it still doesn't make it right.
