What would you do if you bought a house, and the owners left shotgun shells behind?

Shotgun shells? Damn guess your not from Texas. Are we talking a ton of them or a dozen or so? If your scared and you sound like you are call the cops and have them dispose of them, then turn off CSI and go to bed. Not eveything needs to be turned into a federal case because some people are narrow minded.

Call a friend and see if they want to risk useing some shells. Otherwise call your PD and/or drop by in person and request they be destroyed. There is no fee.

I absolutely discourage discarding ammo in the trash. It is stupid and a saftey risk to the trashman and the general public. That is all you need to have the compactor activate the firing pin and someone get hurt.

hahaha this is pretty funny. I'm 17 years old and I own a 30-30, a single barrel 12 gauge shotgun, 3 22 caliber rifles, and a 2-22. That's how we roll in VA lol. As the saying goes guns don't kill people, people kill people. Guns are useful in things such as hunting or God forbid even self defense. As for the shells if their 12 gauge would you mind sending them to me? I'm running low after last turkey season. And if not just throw them away. Don't worry they don't blow up when you touch them.

Well seeing that your opinion is left wing, I think you should move out of the house immediately, as they are highly explosive and you will never feel safe in that house again, because it has been tainted by devil's weapons.

You're scared of a few shotgun shells? C'mon grow up pick them up and give them to someone who might use them, ammo is expensive these days. Or just throw them in the trash. They won't go off in a trash truck.

Just put them in a sack (it's ok to touch them) and take them to your local police department and give them the shells. It will give them a good laugh too...

If they don't fit your gun, take them to a police station or inquire around the neighborhood to see if neighboring gun owners can use them. If you don't have a gun, you fit nicely in the category of "Statistic". Dial 911 if threatened, but as any reputable police chief will tell you, by the time the police arrive, it's all over. If you're not prepared to defend yourself and your family, you become a statistic.

just call the non emergency # for the local police, they will send an officer to get them and dispose of them properly.
just make sure you are home for the officer to come and get the shells. or leave them in a place they can get to easily. ask the officer you speak to where to leave them or how long it would take an officer to get out to get them if you have plans for later in the day.
it might take a while for an officer to get out, depending on the priority the call is for an officer.
