It means if you for instance get caught with a bag of weed and say "my boyfriend gave me the weed", then while in court, the prosecutor will explain to the judge or jury that you knew that you were in fact in possession of the weed. In other words, if you make an incriminating statement, like the example above, it will be brought up in court.

If you blurted out "I'm Drunk!" they can bring that up in court which would be used against you in proving you were drunk.

Rikki L gave you an excellent answer - and I'll add that even if you are talking to someone else, if the cops overhear you saying something, it too can come back to haunt you. Or at least put you on a "suspicious person" list. Be aware that if you are put in a cop car with another person, 98% of the time, that car is "bugged" and they are setting you up to see if you'll run your mouth to the other person.

What it means is if you go into a rant and accidentally let something slip out like saying you are involved in something illegal, then the cop will take a note of it and use it as evidence against you in court. Be extra careful talking to cops. Some will try to engage you in conversation to get you to say something they can arrest you for. When you spill the beans on your own it saves them the trouble of obtaining warrants.

The state has to prove you are guilty. Many times officers read you your rights and immediately start asking you questions that may incriminate you. Save yourself by remaining quite! shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! You don't have to be rich to Remain Silent! You don't have to be Rich to ask for a lawyer.

Why are you asking the question when the answer is obvious? Let's go over it again. Anything you say will be used against you when you go to court. A rocket scientist is not necessary to explain what that means.

It means whatever information you give an officer will be used against you if you go trial. That is why when given the right to remain silent one should exercise that right. Don't make their job any easier.

For example, if you get arrested for a DUI and they read you your rights and they ask if you want to talk about the siuation, the responses you give to them will be used against you at trial.

As an exmaple, how much did you have to drink?

Are you drunk
yes.

they will say you stated you had three beers and admitted to being drunk (example).

You say. "Until I speak with my lawyer the questioning is to cease." and don't say a word more.

Those words mean you are being Miranidized and that you have a right to say nothing, a right to counsel, and a right to have the questioning stop. The police are putting you on notice that you are not free to go.
