No one knows when. Probably soon though, given the amount of successful and qualified black politicians in Washington today. I wouldn't say it's "necessary", but it would certainly help race relations and open the door for more barriers to be broken. |

I don't think it's necessary to have a black person as president. I think it is necessary to have a qualified person as president; regardless of their skin color. |

It is necessary to have a man in office that is looking for the good of all people. He or She should not use one group of people against another. This only makes each group dislike the other and then nothing gets done but name calling. As a citizen of the USA I also think we need to learn to love our country. |

It is necessary for people to accept people as just that!
What do you care the color of their skin, or if they are a woman?
JFK was the 1st Catholic president! There is a first for everything!
There is no such thing as the best candidate! Probably the least corrupt and the one who at least cares a little about people and not big business! |

It's only a matter of time before we elect an African-American as Chief Executive. The question is: Who will it be? Jesse Jackson has already tried twice and didn't make it, and I don't think any African-American leader who preaches racial division and turns every issue into black vs. white (like Jesse, Al Sharpton, Louis Farrahkan, etc.) will ever make it into the Oval Office. Colin Powell has a shot, as does Condolezza Rice, so my money is on a conservative for the first African-American President. |

When there is a different form of government in America. Of course then the position probably won't be called "president" so, never.
I wish I was lying. |

usa will have a black president when one runs.... and wins. not to be a smart-**** but I don't remember seeing any make it that far. No one chooses not to vote for someone because they are white/black. It's based on liberal vs conservative or democrat vs republican views. There is no black/white option on a ballot. Show me an intelligent, qualified black man running for president and I will vote for him. |
