i.e their gun?
i live in a suburb in sacramento county, on easter sunday a 23 year old kid that i went to high school was shot and killed by the police. the situation was this:
the parents of this kid called the police because the kid had been in his room for days and had not ate anything or slept. the police responded and the parents lead them to the boys room. the police knocked and the kid came out and attacked them with an 8 inch knife. the police tried to taze the kid (twice) he didn't go down the the police opened fire.
i'm not blaming the police for shooting, they were being attacked. i'm just wondering when the police can use deadly for like that.

Once the kid posses a threat towards the police (coming at them with a knife) they have the right to do something. It was a good thing they tazed him first because that helps justify what they did but if they kid keeps charging then they have the right to defend themselves just like we do. They also have a duty to protect the community. What if they let that kid go and he stabbed someone. They could sue the cops for not doing something more. |
