When will they realize that everytime they make it harder to get drugs into the country or get drugs at all it makes it more profitable for the drug dealers. It's simple supply and demand. If the supply is low or it's way more risky to do it dealers can chage more and people will pay. I think there are alot better ways to spend that money. Hell we could even make money by legalizing and taxing drugs.

I got another question for the cop, How do you feel about all your years stopping them? Do you feel like you wasted a huge chunk of your life? I know I would. and it's not my responsibility to tell people what to do. I am responsible for myself as soon as other people start thinking like that too the better.

Its actually not worthless at all. The war on drugs pays a lot of money. It gave the CIA a way to fund their illegal black op projects without a money trail.
The war on drugs causes crime. It puts innocent people in jail. (Smoking pot is not a crime. It may be against the law, but it is not a crime.)
It kills people, (DEA agents, bystanders and drug users/dealers alike).
Basically, the war on drugs is wrong, American and is not helping the citizens of the U.S. |

it's a game they make more money keeping drugs illegal they keep letting the dope dealers and addicts alike back on the streets. then they get more people in the game it hits every angle possible. plus all the money they get when they raid the house. they revenue lots of cash keeping it illegal. there is no war on drugs it's on going revenue. |

So what is the answer? Open the borders to all or any kind of narcotic? How many addicted American do you find acceptable? How much money must we spend on treating the various medical problem that all these drugs will cause? How will we fix the shattered lives of the families of all of these addicted people? If drugs are cheap, crimes will still happen because addicted people are unproductive. Who will take care of the children of addicted parents? How are will going to collect taxes when we can't control illegal drugs now. Why will someone pay tax when they can hide it just like they are doing now?
What have you done to stop the demand? I worked many years stopping the supply. |

if anything the laws are not stiff enough, do it like in china, mandatory death penalty for pusher and users alike, and then they bill the widow / next of kin fo the bullet used in the execution.
we should not be another amsterdam, depsite the "legalized" use, thy still have problems |

sounds good on paper but the pharmaceutical company's would have a fit cause those 'other drugs' cut in on their profits..plus there is no money in the cure !! good question though.. |

They (the government) ought to legalize all drugs for a week and provide all the addicts with as much as they can carry, drugs, needles etc.
Every morning the garbage trucks can make the rounds and carry off the trash. The number of addicts/users would drop dramatically each day. |

When they finally realize three simple facts:
1. Prohibition encourages organized crime and terrorism.
.
2. Drugs can be taxed (if you don't believe this just check out the history of alcohol prohibition in the US).
3. Medical problems caused by excessive drug use can be dealt with via insurance (again check out the stats for excessive alcohol consumption). |

That still doesn't justify legalizing them drugs... Believe it or not, the goal doesn't always justify the means... I agree with you that it's hard to fight it, but to give in, will be plain stupid. The best carry out to the end. Instead of asking why don't we legalize them drugs here, ask why are american people so stupid and finance the terrorists? If you trace the drugs, the money end up in the hands of the bozos who would like to see all of us dead... How's that for perspective? I think if anyone will actually do a reality check, and be educated about this, it will do more good than legalizing the drugs. So, no.. I don't think the war on drugs is worthless. There's always going to be criminalt no matter by what means they choose to be... Does that mean we should just give them free pass to do whatever the heck they want? I don't think so honey... But... kuddos to you for having your thinking cap on! |
