No, unfortunately it doesn't work quite that fast. The parole board will render their decision and tell the offender his parole is granted. Even if all the paperwork and background checks/interviews and home inspections have been completed, there is still other paperwork to be done.

As an average figure, once parole is granted, it takes approximately 3 to 4 weeks to actually have everything ready to be released.

I will add just one more proviso. If the offender is going to a half way house as his intended point, he will remain in prison until a bed available space is ready for him. I have seen offenders wait 4 to 5 months for an open bed to be released.

I'm unsure what you mean. When the parole board extends parole, there is usually a date set. However, should the inmate have unacceptable behavior following that, the date is suspended.
