I think guns make the world a little safer ,because if I was faced with a situtation in my home I would hate to see what would happen if i did not have a gun,and since I do have guns I feel protected .

In some places, even in the U.S., it's too dangerous for even law enforcement to venture into. It's too bad it's that way in this day and age but it is. I talked with a guy who grew up in a really rough part of New Orleans and he said plainly, "when you have no other protection at all from anyone, believe me, plenty of people where I grew up have been glad they could possess and if need be use a gun. And these were law-abiding people."

I don't know if guns make the world a better place - I mean, a gun is a tool & like all tools, you can use them for good or ill - but they do give people some protection who wouldn't have it otherwise.

I do. But it they are a double edged sword, they kill, and are machines, they don't judge who they kill, the person does, and sometimes that person is wrong and mislead.

Personally, I love guns and I feel a bit safer knowing if some gang banger breaks into my house I can shoot them, instead of engaging in melee combat, which I would probably win anyway. But with or without guns there would be killing and in just as great of numbers or more. If all the guns in the world were burned the world would go back to melee combat, which can be far more dangerous to both combatants.

The ability & right to own a gun along with the proper knowledge of it's use by those who possess liberty and security is a deterrent to those who would take that liberty and security away.

Without them, we'd still lose Thousands in wars. Back when it was all hand to hand combat, countries would lose thousands or even millions during war. Guns had decreased that amount. Just imagine if World War 2 occured with only blades and bows.

not me, outside of hunting guns are not needed. and assault weapons should never be used for hunting, in fact, guns are for wimps who are not skilled enough to use a bow.
