My health insurace is issued in the state of california and I live in Maryland. which law applies? i have been told that
case law that says an insurance company cannot legally issue and deliver an insurance policy that contains provisions or language that is a violation of the law of the State in which the people being insured reside.

If the insurance company issued a policy to you at your Maryland address, then Maryland law applies.
