Sorry to say this, but your question is actually wrong. If an incident is deemed to be racially fuelled, its treated more seriously, and the sentence, if you are given one is more lengthy. However, an attack on a Black person or an Asian person isn't automatically called a racist attack, its only if it was racially aggrevated, ie if the reason for the attack was on race grounds. However, this is the pivotal point, if somebody attacks a white person, and the grounds are based on race, ie they are attacked because of being white, this is also a racially aggrevated attack. So you can be any colour to be a victim of a racist attack.

I'd guess it's because the ethnic minorities in the UK are more often persecuted for their colour than we (white people) are. That's not to say white people are never the victims or racial assaults/abuse, but it's not quite as common.

Not all attacks on Asians and black people are classed as racist - only those with racial motivation are. It's the same with white folks - if some w**ker beats you up because he's drunk/hates you/feels like it, it's not racist. If he beats you up shouting "you dirty white b*stard" then it is.

Same with blacks and Asians. Some just get beaten up because people like beating other people up - simple. BUT, if it's because of their colour/background, it's racist.

But yes I have often thought that there is a little bit of double standards in place here. But I do think that it is the media coverage here, it appears if whites attack other races it is headline news, however if it is the other way around it often fails to even make it into the paper.

This is probably why it appears this way.

However, I think the term "hate crime" should be stricken from the English language. Aren't they all hate crimes?

We need to forget about passing "hate crime" laws, and just enforce the laws we have.

An attacker should go to jail. I don't care what color he is, or what color his victim is.

Because according to the ones always screaming racism, only whites can be racist. When someone of another race does something to a white, it is called reverse racism. It isn't racism, it is reverse racism. That seems to me to mean that only whites can be racist. It is another invention of the over PC commie libs in this coutnry. Isn't it great?

Maybe it's because of the infamous racist history of the USA, when it was supposedly founded for freedom and democracy for all. When you have all these white racially violent organizations that are allowed to exist such as: CCC, National Alliance, Skin Heads, KKK, Neo- Nazis, Silent Aryan Warriors, and Bob Jones University Grads; that all attack Minorities just because they are different from the Majority, it isn't hard to understand why we need Hate Crimes Laws! I also know some people are now going to try and equate the New Black Panther Party, Black Separatist, and the Nation of Islam with the Aforementioned groups, however, they are simply not known or are on record for attacking anyone in the contemporary in the way that the Racists White Hate groups have in the past 50 years or more if they ever did! These organizations originated as a response to the racist climate of the times past. So let's come out of denial! The White Race has a lot of cleaning up to do in the sense of Race Relations Reform amongst it's own people. It needs to realize that all people are created equal and deserve respect and equal treatment and true justice under the law, and stop catering to the whims of White Racists Dregs. We need to make the consequences for anyone that engages in Racism so intolerable, that it would be unthinkable for them to engage in any kind of racially motivated acts or philosophy of hate...

They're not... A "Racist" incident doesn't just mean Black/White/Asian but for the sake of argument:

If a white man attacks a black man for a specific reason i.e money, then the offence would reflect that e.g robbery.

If however the white man attacks the black man because he is black or the fact that he is black had an influence on the white man to attack him then it becomes a racist incident.

It works the same the other way around:

if a black man attacks a white man for money, it's a robbery etc.
Whereas if the black man attacks the white man "for being white" then it's still a racist attack.

There are plenty of documented cases of white people being victims of racist incidents along with italian, french, and german.

They should all have the same name. But it is true that often attacks against black and Asian people are racist in intent.
