Why do we manufacture cars? They kill more than guns. Were you there when they put the Second amendment together and knew what they were talking about or just an opinion? Did you know they had handguns during this time period? They are not called muskets. I hunt with a black powder rifle typical of those used around 1830-1840. Plenty of whites and Indians killing each other at that time.
Give up all your rights you want but don't think you can give up mine. You are being totally emotional on an issue that is not one sided.
To re-write history and tell people YOU know what the founding fathers meant is ludicrous. Supreme courts have ruled on this. I'm sorry if you don't agree, but go where they have no guns and live in Shangrila |

Well, for the same reason that anything else is manufactured.
Because there is a market for them. |

The same reason that cookies are manufactured. Because people will buy them and profit the companies that produce them. |

Many reasons that I am afraid you may not comprehend. |

Every American has the right to bear arms. It is in the U.S. Constitution. Althougth some guns get in the wrong hands of wrong people. There are gun magazines were you can order any gun in the magazine, even automatic guns such as AK's and submachine guns. There are thousands of people that collect guns and are gun enthuisiasts also. Guns are manufactured for hunters that hunt deer, turkeys, and other animals. And most of all, guns are manufactured for the military and police forces to protect and serve. |

because we can't grow them. |

Because people have needed weapons for (1) defense since the dawn of time, as well as weapons for (2) hunting. That carries through to the present days, although the government military defends us and we can easily run to the supermarket for food. That is the answer.
While you may think that we should get rid of guns altogether, I would disagree. Not only would it be impossible to prohibit firearms (marijuana is the biggest cash-crop in the US, an -illegal- substance), it must be noted that everything is abused in one form or another. Hackers use computers to wreak chaos amongst multiple computers, and yet we still have PCs legalized. Alcohol causes the destruction of countless families, marriages, and lives, and yet it's still legal. |

Why do we manufacture anything? Because whatever it is that we make is going to sell.
Gun control is using two hands. |

Because you can't grow them from the ground.
Firearms are used for hunting and other sports. Criminals use them for despicable purposes. |

Instead of outlawing guns, why don't we outlaw bullets? |

Policing, military, in some ways they are (unfortunatly) needed to keep the peace.
I speak from a Canadian standpoint, but I think the US needs to re-examine the right to bare arms and make the laws stricter. I mean, its a right, but maybe it needs to be changed since some people cannot make the distinction between carrying a gun and killing 30+ people. |
