This isn't right. The parking authority people always give tickets and check meters and they ALWAYS GIVE TICKETS IF THE TIME RUNS OUT OR WOULD HAVE SOMEONE'S CAR TOWED IF THEY ARNT ALLOWED TO PARK ANYWHERE! BUT MEANWHILE, THOSE IDIOTS DO THE SAME THING AND ARE HYPROCRITICAL!! WHETHER WHEN METER MAIDS ARE ON AND OFF DUTY, THEY ARE ALLOWED TO PARK ANYWHERE AND NOT HAVE TO PUT MONEY IN THE METER THEMSELVES!! WHY IS THAT?!! WHAT MAKES THEM SO SPECIAL? THEY SHOULD FOLLOW THE RULES LIKE ANYONE ELSE!
And thats exactly why I cant stand cops, people who work for the city like Parking authority people/meter maids, and anyone like that because they are allowed to break the law themselves!!! It pisses me off! Why can they get away with it when other people arent allowed to park anywhere? Its like they are getting a free parking space just because they work for the city! It would be like me stealing food just because I work in the store!

There are parking exemptions for emergency services and public service vehicles. The law makers create these exemptions, not the police. |

I am a former "meter maid", so let me answer your question:
In the course of duty, i.e.; they need to park their vehicle and get out and walk to issue citations, they are entitled to park 'free' at a meter. For safety reasons, you never want your vehicle to far away, and it is unreasonable to expect a 'meter maid' to pay at every meter they stop at.
Off duty, in their personal vehicles, however, they should be held to the same rules as everyone else. In San Jose, CA, several Parking Control Officers were just fired for "overlooking" a fellow PCO's wife's vehicle that was illegally parked.
Lunch time, in the City vehicle at a meter? Personal choice, I suppose. I for one ALWAYS put money in the meter if I were going to lunch; 50 cents is not worth the criticism from people like you. |

Are the meter maids allowed to park their vehicle behind the vehicle getting cited and give the vehicle the citation??????? ...when the owner of the vehicle getting cited is trying to leave. |
