Why are the black neighborhoods in Chicago loaded with cops that like to mess with you and try to scare you?

Out of curiosity, are they "black" neighborhoods? Or are they "high crime" neighborhoods? They are not one in the same. And the police in high crime neighborhoods are there trying to prevent crimes from occurring and protecting good people that just dont have enough money to move to a better neighborhood.

Sakura Y: I am really racking my brain as to figure out how you got due process into your statement? Along with rights not to be searched? I think you may be a little confused and need to learn a little more about what rights you have rather that complaining that they're always being violated.

To further correct you, due process is in the 6th amendment. Due process is best defined in one word--fairness. Throughout the U.S.'s history, its constitutions, statutes and case law have provided standards for fair treatment of citizens by federal, state and local governments. These standards are known as due process.

I think what you were looking for is the 4 th amendment, which covers stop, question and possibly frisk standards for the police. Check out Terry V. Ohio and also People v. De Bour and you may get sopme enlightenment.

Please defined "mess with you". No matter where you live, be it in a low-crime or high-crime neighborhood, you still have the same rights as afforded by the constitution. These is called "due process". Before the police can mess with you they need to have "probable cause". If they ask you a question, you might want to ask them first if you are under arrest. If they say no, then just walk away.

What you consider scaring or messing with people is probably more like keeping a close watch on things to insure safety in the neighborhood. By means of protecting and serving you have to get people to respect authority.

does it occur to u that the reason cops would b messing w/someone is because that person was messing w/ the cop or someone else? their lives could b threatened and they feel they need to take action. there could b a lot of drug-dealers there too.

"cops" are concentrated where more crime happens. If the goo people living there ran the gangs out of town there would be less need for more police. Easy answer, just do it.

Why do you think? The neighborhoods are out of control. Something has to be done so the streets can be safe again. Maybe it'll get to a point where I can scream the "N" word out my window there. Like i'm doing right now.
