I got a speeding ticket today, first one in 20 years. and I saw like 10 people pulled over on the way to and from work. Is it because towns need money because of the bad economy? I hope a cop never needs my help, cause he ain't gonna get it.

Every year about 45000 people die in car crashes. about 15 percent or so of those deaths are related to excessive speed. That is nearly 7000 deaths caused by excessive speed. If we can stop 10 percent of all speeders and change their behavior, we are saving 70 lives a year.
If I were to save 70 lives for any other reason, you'd be putting me in for a medal.
I notice you did not deny speeding. Stop speeding, pay your ticket and be thankful we are out here trying to keep you and all the other drivers safe. Despite yourselves!
ps. In WA State, my county only receives about 8 percent of the fines we write. That 8 percent goes to general fund and the Sheriff sees little if any of it in his budget.
pps. No, we don't have quotas. They let me write as many as I want.

You appear to be a dumbass with this statement of yours. If the police needs assistance if you do not help someone will, so don't worry about helping a police officer out, no one is making you. Moron. Just keep on driving by the police in need of help just like i hope the police will keep driving by when you are in need of assistance. |
