dont even get me started on this one!!!!!our car was torched on our drive by a man trying to stop us giving evidence against him in court...10 hours it took for them to arrive, i was seriously considering ringing them and telling them i had a gun, see if that shifted them! the arsonist had assaulted my son and come at my husband with a screwdriver and bottle, we restrained him and waited 40 mins for them to turn up, we could have been dead by then! |

I have similar beliefs, though motorists and taxi drivers are sometimes a horrible nuisance and should be dealt by the police too. |

Policing has changed now we have CCTV
It used to be that police were visibly present and patrolled the streets to deter criminals..
The new method is to wait until a crime has occurred and then scan tv images to see who did it.
The second methosd is cheaper, but if there is no CCTV in your street or my street then that's just tough for us taxpayers.

Well where were you when you needed them? It's not the police dept's fault that crime happens. They can only do so much. |

A very good question, because I had called the police because my ex-boyfriend was beating the crap out of me...I finally got a moment to get out of the house {he had went to bathroom} and this was after 45 minutes of this going on!!! So I got in my car and left and went to take the warrant. I didn't get all of my furniture, clothes, ETC... but that don't matter to me now. I'm finally gone and of rid of him. |

Same reason as why you wait ages for a bus and then two come at once. |

I'm sure the Police have as much faith in you, as you have in them.
NEWS FLASH, Person arrested for murder, asks Police, Why aren't you guys out writing tickets, instead of harassing me?. |

I believe it is to do with Murphy's law.
"Whatever can go wrong will go wrong."
This applies to lots of things in life such as buses travelling in threes, the toast landing butter side down and when you look for something important, that object becomes invisible.
Or the police don't like you. |

That is one of the mysteries of life. You are right. They are rarely around when you need them. |

Maybe they have finally had enough of all the donut shop and pig jokes. I guess they are finally giving back the attitude they get 99.9% of the time. |

Too many of police men a women are concerned with building their careers rather than controlling crime.
Given the choice of stopping a stolen BMW and possibly facing an Ingram Mach 10 or giving a man in a suit a speeding ticket, most take the easy option.
By failing to control crime and making criminals of frustrated members of the public who take matters into their own hands, crime and fear of crime increase enabling oppressive legislation to be enacted and police budgets boosted.
Like most public services, employee job security and finances are improved by being ineffective and inefficient rather than providing a good service. |

Because its easier to boost your figures by enforcing new motoring laws and relaxing criminal laws.
Motoring laws result in fines which are revenue, criminal laws result in prison sentences which are expensive. |

Just mention that you believe the suspect has a gun. They're be there within a minute. If they put the same amount of time and resource into catching burglars, shoplifters, stabbings etc... as they do with motorists, then we wouldn't have too many problems in society. |

the primary function of the police is to raise taxation fines for Blair, this is best done when they can see you but you cannot see them until its too late. actual criminals are too much of a hassle and probably will not end up paying a fine whereas the timid motorist will |

Very similar beliefs. Police are the best Fire Service in the country. Good at putting out fires but pathetic at preventing them.
Funny, though, I thought the latter was what we pay their salaries for!! |

They are usually filling in all that paper warfare on mandatory on the spot fines.
If they are not doing this they are probably having something to eat as usually. |

Because they are all lurking behind bushes with speed cameras.
Each police force has to get a certain percentage of resolved crimes each year, and a speeding motorist is a much easier mark than someone committing burglary, rape, assault, murder etc etc |
|

.
|
Because they are weighed down by an immense volume of paperwork that has to be completed - any idea just how much has to be filled out for even the most basic offence?
They are also overstretched in dealing with numerous alcohol-related public order offences, due to adults having far too much and thinking it's OK to either behave like irresponsible children, or batter the s hit out of each other.
Don't blame the police for this - the blame lies squarely at both the government AND society's door. If more individuals grew up and learned common decency, there would be more Police Officers available to deal with the really serious stuff. |

* The mentality of the police(what they are taught in the train ing school at Hendon) says that " The police is out there to nick people". So, the consider every person out there as a suspect.
* thats why they show no sympathy.
* They don't treat people in the way they like to be treated.
* Police managements & supervisors judge the team officers(Officers on the street dealing with the incidents) on the quantity of work & not on the quality of work!! |

Are you naive enough to believe they would risk their precious lives for you when you are in danger and need them? That only happens in the movies, which is just another form of propaganda ... |
