In every society that has evert existed, the segment of society that is the most disenfranchised commits the most crime per capita. Black Americans have been subject to 300 years of social, psycholgical, and economic opression that keeps the majority of them in poverty.. Poor whites commit about the same amount of crime per capita too, it's just that unlike blacks, the majority of white Americans aren't living in poverty. |

I dont know how old you are or what kind of education you have, but just by asking this question, i can tell you have a lot of learning to do. many people of different races commit crime everyday..... white, black, hispanic, chinese, etc... to actually ask why black people commit so much crime makes you seem very ignorant. i hope you realize that crime, along with other things is not based solely on one race. |

I don't think it's a matter of color. The most important thing is education. Any race can commit to crime, drugs etc, usually the less education they got the more the get into crime. Education of their parents is important as well, the more educated their parents are, they'll know teaching the kids the right value. Proper up bringing will lead the kids to the right path. |

Your observation is anecdotal but has been researched extensively by sociologists.Looking for "cause and effect" based on race or any other common characteristic (i.e. why did Germany conduct the Holocaust) very complicated.
To ascribe certain recurring behavior to groups is a spurious endeavor at the present time.Hopefully science will someday reach a point were your question can be correctly postulated and then answered so as to help all groups (gender,race, religion,nationality) |

I think all race's are about the same in crime problems , their are not more then the other, Court TV you should watch more cause they also have lot of whites and Hispanics that are arrested as well not just black people..
There is no that race is worst in the crime area we are all the same no matter how you look at it.:) |

In my large city, most violent crimes are committed by blacks who live in the same area. Poverty? Drugs? Whatever the reason, they'll blame everyone and everything but themselves. |

As a law enforcement officer, it is rarely blacks I arrest. In fact, all the citations I have written today have been caucasion males. The media livens everything up. There is no color on crime, just the orange jumpsuit you wear in jail. |

I don't know what the crime percentages are by race. But some black communities are having problems because of decades of repression and bigotry towards black. And instead of putting our money and resources into inner city American neighborhoods, which would benefit all of our country, we're giving it to, say, Lebanon -- a country that despite billions of US dollars over decades is never able to better itself.
Reparations to Native Americans has resulted in thousands of Native Americans a year graduating from college. That's better for all Americans. |

I think the reason you think black people commit more crime is because the TV and the newspapers report on black crime much more often than any other race. This has been going on for decades,, before you were born even. To keep us all segregated, someone with an agenda, to keep everyone afraid of each other cuz god knows what we can all do if we started getting along and able to overthrow this system!! you are being mislead my friend. |

According to sociologist point of view it is because they are the most poverty stricken causing them to commit more crimes. The truth is that the only reason that you see more minorities on tv is because they tend to commit violent crimes(armed robbery, aggravated assault, homicide). While educated white people launder lots of money from their businesses, take part in insider trading, etc. everyday but they aren't put on the news or tv because people would find that boring. People want to be entertained. That's why they put all the violent crimes on television so they could get better ratings while the less interesting white collar crimes continue to be overlooked. So what this means is that white people commit crimes too except the crimes white people commit are usually found boring by viewers so they don't give it media coverage. |

Do you watch Court TV all day? maybe your just watching it at the wrong time or maybe your just trying to start trouble. either way one person of whatever race doesn't mean that all the other people that are the same race are just the same everybody's different not cause of their skin but because what's on the inside. |

actually there are no statistics available on how much commission of crime there is. what you see is who winds up in the system. We have seen over and over again that Blacks are dealt with more harshly than othes in the system. For example, a white man gets busted on drugs, he goes to treatment. the same thing happens to a Black man, he goes to jail. Think of the Jena 6 situation: white kids beat up a Black kid and pull a gun on him, only misdemeanor charges files and a fine is paid and it's over. Black kids beat up white kid, all go to jail, one sits in jail for over a year for attempt with a deadly weapon (sneaker).

It's not racist at all, you can't deny that black people commit more crimes than white people, why there are more black people in jail, there are more 19 year old black man in jail than in college. America is a racist country, it became rich and powerful from the slave trade, and ever since then you can't deny the fear the white american has of the black man. There are also much more black people living in poverty, whereas wealthy suburban areas are usually rich in whites. |
