Because they know they've done something wrong! And they think they can outrun the police and escape any charges. I think it might be the adreanaline that leads them to think they can actually get away.

You can get away Ive ran from the law before on foot you can get away. It is a risk but its worth it if you got warrants.

They run because they're dumb. All it does is piss off the arresting officer when you finally do get caught, mind you, if tasers had longer wires you wouldn't get far. It'll be nice when the new shotgun style hits the streets.

Not sure just would rather die I guess than go to jail. They don't think about the fact they could be killing other ppl on the way or maybe they do but just don't care.. I never understood this

im pretty sure they figure they have two alternatives, and if there is any possibility of getting away, its worth trying to do . if they dont get away they are just as bad off as they were in the first place.
if you have a copter or something after you though i would just give up unless you have blueprints to the sewer system or something

As crazy as it is,they probably run due to fear of being incarcerated.Which is completely ridiculous because when they run it gets them more time.

Sometimes they do get away. They just don't show it on TV shows like COPS. Nobody has ever gotten away on the show COPS. And that is because that show is propaganda. It sends a message like, "Don't try to run from the cops because you will never get away." But criminals get away all the time in real life in car chases. Murder trails go cold, etc. Some police departments are understaffed.

cos they know that if they are becoming a danger to other road users the police have to back off,so my guess is that they think they have nothing to lose.

haha you know why they run cuz they can . well it alway run then get caught right on the spot . if you run atlease you get like 4 r 5 hour on the run just for not geting caught.

Lack of the ability to concentrate and do the right thing. Adrenaline comes into play with the fear factor of the unknown. And then it is human instinct to evade what your in fear of. Alot of times they have no clue why they ran, only that it became a natural feeling in them, like a built in survival instinct that's says " hey Run Dummy your in for it ' .

Lol. This is a funny question. If i was in trouble i think i would run because my parents would be mad that i did somthing so stupid to get involved with the police. So i would run to try to get out of trouble...which is probably dumb because thats like resisting arrest. lol.

They sometimes panic and speed up because they feel it's the end of the world if they get pulled over, due to them having some kind of illegal substance or violating probation somehow, and so..they cling to the desperate hope they might lose the police

I don't think they pay any more time for a high speed chase than they do if they're simply stopped. Besides, it'd be one heck of an adrenaline rush, wouldn't it? You might even get on TV!!
