I can say without seeing the area that enough signs were not obstructed that you knew the speed limit and chose to speed. |

If you want to take a picture of the obstructed sign to court with you, I am sure the judge would be interested, but it wouldn't change the fact that you were speeding.
The judge will ask you how long you were traveling on that road, then he/she will ask the officer if there were any other speed limit signs along your route. |

If the sign is obstructed, you can't be pulled over for speeding. As long as you are going the speed limit of the sign prior to the obstructed one.
In a community, you shouldn't be going 60 mph. Just use common sense. |

There is nothing in the law that requires any speed limit sign be posted anywhere. In all reality they aren't required, they are simply there to remind you of the speed.
If it is obstructed contact your local street service department and let them know, they will cut the trees around it or move it to a more visible location. |

The people who live in the neighborhood have as much right to be safe from speeding vehicles as everyone else. It's not their fault if the sign is obstructed.
Speed Limits can be enforced without any sign at all.
There are prima facia speed limits in certain areas. In my State a residential neighborhood in a city is 25 MPH if there is no sign. A business district in a city is 35 MPH if there is no sign. A country road outside the city is 55 MPH is there is no sign. |

As a driver you are responsible for knowing the speed limit. |

That is a form of a "speed trap" and is illegal in most states. It is used in a lot of small towns to raise revenue. This used to be done years in some of the Southern states (mostly in rural areas) by county cops. This was investigated by state police and was deemed to be illegal. They actually set up a sting to nab the cops who were doing this. This was brought about by some out of state people who complained to the State Attorney General office.A few bad cops gave the rest of us a bad name. |

Just because one sign is obstructed, doesn't mean that you haven't already passed others. It is the drivers responsibility to know the speed limit on any road that they are traveling on. If it is a small road, your drivers Manuel had the speed limits in it when you took your drivers test, not all small roads will have the limit posted, it is just common knowledge. |

Their are basic laws for speeds whether or not you can see the sign. If you have been driving for a while you would be familiar with them. |

Some states post signs that say "Speed Limit 35 on all streets unless otherwise posted", or whatever the speed limit might be. I know you probably didn't see the sign, but it's still up to you to know the speed limit, or if in doubt, slow down. |

It is the drivers responsibility to know the speed limit at all times. |

its called a speed trap, and most times if you take a picture of the scene, you can use it in court, sometimes they let you go, and the cops usually don't show up for court, which automacilly puts you in a winning situation |

If this cop gave you a ticket and you couldn't read the speed limit sign and you were going a reasonable speed, I would take it to court. |

As far as the cop who pulled you over goes, the speed limit sign was not obstructed. You cannot win this argument any more than you can convince an evangelical Christian that God doesn't exist. |

Its called a speed trap. They do it so they can have a reason to stop you and make more money. I think that is pretty low of them to do but they do it. Everywhere in the U.S.A. They always sit and try to find reasons that arent even true so they can do bidding to their own selfish lives. |
