Kind of a broad general statement, isn't it? A lot of people said that when the height restriction was lowered for the department, but the shorter men and women proved that theory wrong too.

BTW - if I took you into custody, I can guarantee you that you would not be running away

Most female Officers actually try to excel past the male counterparts becasue they feel they have something to prove. Often times that makes them better officers. There are many female officers I'd rather have at a scene than a man. I wouldn't say all of them but most do the job just as well as a man.

You obviously have never met any of my countys female finest. They're well trained and very competent at handling arrestees. As for strength, I see the females in my department working out in the gym as often as I see the males. I have a good friend that I refer to as "A pitbull with lipgloss", but then again...I trained her. So please continue on with your delusions and your stereotyping. In my County you'd be well advised to treat any female Officer or Deputy with the same respect you'd treat a man, because if you get froggy with them, they'll open a can of whoopa$$ all over you.

wow, you don't know some of the women I know. they could whip most men singlehandedly.
I don't see anything wrong with a woman becoming a cop if she is in good physical condition and has the right personality for it.

I don't agree! Women, I believe, make better cops than men. They tend not to get caught up in the whole cop mentality that everyone is a criminal!

And they can fire a weapon just as accurate as a man!

Plenty of females are great cops, Come to Florida, we have some badd assss cops.... Do u wanna be a cop? Or do u feel woman should only work in certain postions.....

I really hope you are not serious. I know a lot of female officers and they do just fine. There are many women who have just as much physical strength as men or enough to handle the job just fine. Besides there is a lot more to being a police officer than physically apprehending suspects.

Oh and by the way have you ever been a nurse? That job can be extremely demanding physically also.

Anyone that actually thinks that needs to buck during an arrest on a couple of our females! I've seen them extract people from the windows of cars and handle men twice their size easily. Women have it rougher because of the upper body strength issue, but leverage overcomes strength. As a smaller statured officer, I SURE had to figure that out pretty quick. What female officers lack in size, they make up for in pure viciousness, trust me!

Females, become Police Officers, Troopers, because they get so sick and tierd of seeing all these men/women/teenagers breaking the Law. They want to enforce the Law and catch the Drunks, theifs, violators, and you name it. The worse is the Drunk women. It is awful and a good challenge. A Female Officer, can do most things a Male can. It angers any Officer to see a reckless driver and one who will not stop. To have to chase a driver and watch them put others in harms way, makes a Female Officer want to kick some ***.
