Why do we need more law enforcement in this country?

Why do politicians think that spending more money on enforcement is actually going to work. I mean, all that does is just fuel more violence especially at the border. Do they really believe that the cartels are going to stop because we have more "police". They are going to smuggle the drugs, the money and the guns regardless of how many people we put at the border. As long as it is profitable for the drug organizations they will never stop. More law enforcement is not the answer. The answer lies within the policy itself.

We don't need more law enforcement the ones we have don't enforce the current laws and many of them are corrupt which is one reason drugs get though the boarder the answer is to legalize drugs considering any illegal street drug can be bought through a doctor as a prescription in pill form.

If marijuana is decriminalized, then criminal empires
wont be the ones benefiting.. there money will start to

You are correct. We've been in the drug war for decades, yet it hasn't had any effects. It's just wasted billions of tax dollars and has thrown innocent people in jail. If we legalized drugs, drug cartels couldn't sell it. They'd lose money and go out of power. The violence would stop. Just look at the Prohibition Era. Alcohol was made illegal, and gangs started selling it. They rose to power and spread violence. It was legalized, and they couldn't sell it. They lost the power, so the violence stopped.

and if evryone had a gun then people woudent be able to rob a bank for an example or a 25year old 250 pound man would not be able to rape a 19 year old 95pound girl

You're right. We should just give up and let them poison our communities with drugs and smuggle weapons back and forth across the border so they can kill people with them. Why didn't I think of this?
