Why do you hate police?

i don't hate them. police just like normal people, there's nice ones and bad ones too. people hate them because either they had a bad experience with one of them or because they hate being caught doing something illegal.

Ehh I don't "hate" them. Just the A-holes that abuse their power. There are many more good cops than bad ones. They have a pretty tough job dealing with all the stuff they have to on a daily basis. I think I'd be grumpy too if I had to deal with the worst citizens on a daily basis.

its not a hate for all cops. But there are videos all over the internet that show cops degrading people. The general population doesn't see any of the good cops or what they do

i dont like cops, but i ran into one swat police guy that caught me pee'n behind a shell gas station cuz i was on the way hoem from a hockey game and we stopped, but he was was real cool and let us go

i dont hate them but i get really nervous when they get behind me when im driving though for some reason, like i get a guilty conscious and think im probably speeding or doing something wrong that they will pull me over for but its funny that you asked this question because my boyfriend and i just got pulled over earlier today and he was really nervous because he has too many tickets but the cop was so nice and funny and just gave him a warning so its cops like those that make me like them again however there are still cops that have been hardened by their job and cant trust anyone so they act like an *** to everyone they pull over. and also i think they are generally meaner to younger people probably because they have bad experiences with them like the majority of people they see do bad things might be kids/ young adults so it's not fair to people like me age 20 that aren't bad but are in the wrong place at the wrong time (at a party where they had alcohol one time and got arrested) the cops that came were absolutley *** holes for no reason. i swear to you not one of us were being unruly, rude, or disrespectful. we were answering there questions yes sir no sir, did what they told us to do and they were simply so mean screaming in our faces and threatening us and it was very uncalled for so i just think many cops are biased against younger people.

I personally don't hate the police but I know some people hate the police because a few officers have violated civil rights. Also, a small majority of them are not professional and are rude and take advantage of their authority.

I don't. Some of them are on power trips and have Huge egos, but most of them are ok I guess.

Quit a few of them get big heads and power trip especially the ones that have short mans complex. It's so uncool, and stupid. They gave me a Dui when I was at a private parking lot drinking, I wasn't even in my car and when I protested they got me for resisting arrest also. I had to plead guilty only because I couldn't afford an attorney.

They are hated because they enforce the law. When you do illegal things that are fun, you must watch your back, thus ruining the fun. Nowadays, the cool thing is the bad things, the wrong things. I shall guarantee you, if they made drugs 100% illegal everywhere, in 5 years or so it will drop down on usage and instead of being cool, fall into the smoking category, simply ill advised.

I do not hate cops and I do not think that most of them are racist. It really depends on where you are.

There are obviously some who abuse their power but you find that in every profession.

The only thing that bothers me is that they gave my mom a ticket for not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign at 3am. She has never had a ticket (22 years of driving) and he wrote it as her running the stop sign which was totally bogus. She did stop, just not completely, which is actually a smaller fine. That is messed up.

I don't know, I guess modern culture just tells us that being rebels is cool. Especially young people believe that. I've done my share of lawbreaking but I've never minded cops.

Well when they violate someones civil right then you might not hate them but you might not like them or trust them but that hate word is a no no.. I don't think anyone hates the cops because when we need them then it is good that they are here. But it's not good to be done wrong by the very ones that should be protecting you, I'm just saying. Because many of them [hopefully in the future not you too] go after people for pointless reasons when they could be doing a better job at getting the perks who rape, murder, etc

i dont hate cops, they deserve a lot more respect than they get.

i do dislike a lot of laws, however, and SOME (not all) of them are just @sswipes who bust anybody they can.

I believe it is because there first and foremost duty should be to serve and protect, but so often it seems that they see their duty as being to fine and harass. It isn't that the public hates individual policemen. We just hate the fact that the police force has become a money making scheme rather than a vessel through which the community can feel secure and protected. We fear the consequences of police rather than recognizing the benefits.

A majority of cops adhere to the rules they are supposed to. If you hate the cops if most likely becuase (1) your a teenager and you naturally hate authority figures or (2) your doing something illegal or (3) all of the above. Normal law abiding people have no reason to hate cops.
