I noticed this the other day and I was curious to know why!@

It is the hard driving. When you turn corners at high speed, go up curbs and do a lot of emergency braking the things tend to fly off. The cars come with them but in my department they either put extra clips on them or remove them, they become a hazard when the go flying. |

We do alot of hard driving and those damned things would be flying off all the time. They probably all started with hubcaps. |

They do here, but it seems like every year the town seniors have a scavenger hunt and the last thing on the list is a hub cap off a police car. So they are usually missing 2-3 the next day! Ahhh, to be young again! |

The whole liability issue comes into play. If little Suzie got decapitated because a HUB came flying off a black and white in a high speed felony chase that puts the city at financial risk since the tax payer has to pay the little girls folks off for their loss. |
