I got answers!

I have also wondered why they don't, I mean if I'm driving along in my car and don't have my seat belt on I get a ticket. Why would anyone think it's okay to put about 30 children in a moving vehicle without buckling them up?? |

They are slowly converting all school buses to have seat belts. |

1. It would be expensive to retrofit the buses for seat belts.
2. Schools or bus companies would have to hire someone in addition to the driver to enforce the wearing of the seat belts because if the buses had them and the kids didn't use them they would be liable for not making sure that the kids had them on and would be constantly getting lawsuits. |

It's a money issue. Schools themselves don't have enough books, either.

Most newer school buses do have seat belts. I don't think it's a law yet, but it would certainly be a good idea.
It could save lives. |

Because the school bus seats are big enough and tall enough to where you do not have to have a seat belt. |
