well, because the cop can SEE you doing over the speed limit. as for the guy selling crack, they may not know he is selling crack |

Because vehicle code violations bring in money, and throwing a crackhead in jail costs money. I have no doubt that the officers would prefer to kick some crackdealer's butt, given the chance, but their organizations are run by accountants just like your job is.
They're so busy looking at the sticker in the corner of your license plate to see if it's current, that they can't even see the sidewalk (where crime happens) anymore.
It's a very sad commentary. |

It's easier to identify someone "speeding" (even thought to us drivers it's not really) than it is to notice someone selling drugs. Even though at times it's obvious if a person's selling drugs, they're more descreet than a driver. |
