1) they deal with crazy, mean, drunk, and generally stupid people all day long. I would guess after a while of doing that they just get to the point where they treat everyone the same. You do not have to worry about it if you do not give them a reason to be dealing with you. |

beacuse there are dumb people out there who think they can get away with anything. next time listen to what the police tell u |

You exaggerate, but essentially they put you in a position for maximum safety to the officers. If you cooperate, they do it quickly and efficiently.
If you fight it, you might hurt yourself.
Sorry, I side with the officers. We're tired of people who think they have a right to break the law, ignore the police, etc. |

Had a run in with the police, have you? Next time, simply do as they ask and cooperate. |

Are you kidding me? Go do the crap we do everyday. Try having some maniac try to shoot you with your own gun...
That stuff does not happen everyday. At all. Usually some dumbass wants to resist arrest and act a fool. If we didn't get control of the situation, our lives or the bad guys would be in a lot more danger. The bad guy constitutes the actions of the police. Never in my 10 years have I ever seen an officer just do that for sport. |

Don't resist, follow the instructions you are given, and you won't eat dirt. Fail to comply, and you'll find yourself face down pretty fast with additional charges tacked on. |

Compliance is the word of the day. Comply with the officer's commands and you won't make them use force to arrest you. Yes, its that easy.......no magic involved. I arrest a lot of people and only a few require me to do anything more then have them turn around and handcuff them. Only the knuckleheads get thrown on to the ground. |

Stop resisting them and this won't happen. |

Why are you in a position for them to do you like this? |

Perhaps next time you will listen to the uniformed police officer when he gives you a command. Don't put yourself in a position to be arrested or detained.
Was it 100 degrees outside and the pavement burning hot? |

I've only ever seen this on shows like cops. It doesn't seem to be done anywhere else. If a police officer tried it in Europe he would be in court on an assault charge.
I believe it's due to the easy of access to guns and the risk of being shot is high. |

It is a power kick thing for a lot of them i am a cop and never once had to do that.A lot of cops today were the runts in school mommas boys that when they get older they need to feel in control for once and are sick of getting picked on..But do not think this of all law enforcement some of us do it because we love the job and want to help people..the only time i would ever use force is if my life or the public was in danger of being hurt... |

overkill.
they have a need to feel tough.
its the same reason it takes 10 of them to whip on 1 guy....as if they aren't already standing over the gun with semi automatics locked and loaded, they also need to kneel on the guy's neck? |

its not. when they do get a badge number. file a complaint with the department and if the really cross the line seek assistance from the ACLU and Amnesty International. ive been messed with by cops because of my appearance in the past or shirts with political pov. where i used to live i saw them rough up a 15 year old for skateboarding. big men with guns. |
