That's not always true. Police can arrive instantly. |

Thats pretty simple.... a pizza busneess treats every order as equally important....while a police department proritizes by severity of the call |

Perhaps there are more people ordering policemen than there are ordering pizzas! |

cause you didn't tell the police you had pizza. they'd need it for evidence. |

If you're asking them to bring pizza, they probably won't come straight away. They have more important things to do, like eat doughnuts and issue speeding tickets. |

Two days, my you must live in a good area, my mother called and they took two weeks!!! |

Which one is in business for profit? If the pizza guy waited 2 days you wouldn't pay him but the police are paid either way.
But the main issue here is why did you call the police. If you called for a non-emergency then it was treated as a non-emergency meaning your call was handled after emergency calls. For the pizza guy, ALL calls are emergency calls because if he treated one differently his income would drop & he would end up out of business.
But you knew that. You just wanted to have a lil fun stirring it up some so all the citizens who do not like cops could have something to write about. Thank you. |

Perhaps if you ring for a pizza and then ring the police and tell them you have a pizza they might come round a whole lot quicker, you could also offer them garlic bread and a cup of tea. |

Police are allowed to prioritise but the Pizza boys have to earn their keep without question. You are exaggerating here though. |

Someone called the police to report being abused at a cash till in Tesco? There might be more to the story, but it seems to bear out what Phil M says about people reporting unimportant things. They probably turned up to put a stop to the calls, then put the whole thing in the bin. |

That's because you've prepaid the police. If they got paid when they turned up they'd be there in 30 minutes as well. |

Because you are important to the Pizza company and keep them in work, the Police get paid for doing nothing. |

If you call them (police) because of something very mundane, then yes it takes awhile.
I have called the police before and they arrived within an hour.
I always find it funny when people bash the police.....talk about complete and utter ignorance. |

good point it took me a month until the police took at statement off me for the abuse I suffered at a cash till in tescos, where I add no one helped me, |

They have trouble deciding what topping to use, hence the delay. |

Because it means the poor copper`s have to get off their comfortable chairs and go outside in the wet, cold awful night.
It`s terrible that people ask the police to go out in that awful weather - unless they are racing their Noddy cars up and down the motorways. :-) |
