That gun Dog uses shoots pepper balls. The gun is used because it works at a further distance than pepper spray.
Dog is a convicted felon, so he can not possess a firearm, nor can any of his employees.
His methods are also unconventional, and do not reflect the majority of bounty hunters.

Dog is awesome! He managed to turn himself around and should be respected for trying to make the world a safer place. I've been watching his show for a long time. I live in Colorado Springs and could not be happier that he is busting criminals in my city! |

He's a felon and cannot carry a gun. I have Total Respect for the Man. Anyone that has gone through the Trials and Challenges he has and turns his life around is alright by me! I say More Power to Him! |

Where else but in America can someone like Duane Falkroy "Dog" Chapman a former gang member with 18 counts of Armed Robbery and a Murder (Controversial) beef be allowed to become a Bail bonds man, recovery person or Bounty hunter.
It goes that a judge gave Chapman who could not pay C/S a job to bring in a fugitive for the judge in exchange for a down payment on C/s.
Thus started Chapman's illustrious career.
