I know its against you contracts but..........STRIKE FOR REAL. If you all walked off the job the politicains might get the idea youre needed once there rich houses were robbed.

Because despite all the bickering, and controversy, there are people out there that deserve to be locked up. Someone has to find and catch them. |

Because most cops are fairly honorable, law-abiding citizens (ok, not all, but most), and breaking their contract is wrong.
If they walked off the job for even a few hours, people might be killed as a result of no law enforcement. Is that worth higher pay or having a watchdog on your rear end all the time? |

I am a cop. I often wonder the same question. I am NOT racist. I do fear all of theses groups out to get the police.
When you do something to one of these minority groups a lot of them AUTOMATICLY think it is because of thier race. Then it just snow balls from there. They honestly think they are 100% right and are being desgriminated against. They think everyone is out to get them.
If the police were to stop a minority person for driving on the wrong side of the road, they would accuse the police of being racist. |

I am a police officer. I've never had any contact with either the ACLU or NAACP. I'm not afraid of either. I won't ever send an innocent man to jail. Ever. I won't strike because I care about the community I serve. Will everybody, someday appreciate us for what we do?... No. Does that matter to me? ... No.
We, as law enforcement, should be transparent. I do not fear being questioned on why I took a specific action. We have to be transparent to have the trust of our communities. Can I answer every question at the scene of a tumultuous call? No. Can questions be answered after the perpetrators have been arrested and the situation is calmed down... Absolutely. I don't fear any Watchdog group. As long as I carry myself in a manner in which I won't be ashamed to admit. I am an open book. And I get to choose what gets written in the book by choosing the course of my actions. As a police officer I have the blessed opportunity to fight a righteous fight. Because in the end I'll answer to a higher power than the laws of man. And I want to meet my maker, humble and smiling. |

It is in spite of the liberal hate groups, it is because most police want a safe society |

The ACLU should be on the terror watch list. |

Damn all those who are trying to get cops to act lawfully. They really interfere with things don't they? |

Honest, normal cops have nothing to fear from the ACLU.
What are YOU afraid of? |

Most cops are good, and don't have a problem with rules against beating the crap out of people, planting evidence, coercing confessions, etc. A few don't like those rules, but they still enjoy driving fast, guns, badges, sirens, and stuff. |

If a police officer does his job correctly according to the laws we have in this country then they have nothing to fear from the NAACP or the ACLU. It is when police officers take the position that they are the law instead of agents who uphold the law that there is a problem. If you would like to live in a country where police can act in any manner and are accountable to no one then move to Zimbabwe. But in this country it is important that we have a system of checks and balances. For this reason the work done by the ACLU and NAACP is extremely important in keeping this country safe from the minority of officers who may abuse the powers granted to them. Just because you have the ability to become a police officer doesn't mean that you are a person who cannot be corrupted and break laws just like any other person out there. I suggest you do some real reflection on how you feel about these organizations that are seeking to preserve the rights we have as citizens. Yes I want to make sure that my TV doesn't get stolen or that my IPOD doesn't get swiped but more importantly I want to be sure that my rights as a human don't get stolen by the police. |

I am actually finishing up my BS in Criminal Justice. I can honestly say I'm not sure why I want to be a police officer, I have a family and I can not see myself putting them the misery of narrowminded arogent pieces of work who have no respect for anyone but themselves. I guess I'm just going to have become thick skinned and realize that soceity hates me. Oh well my ex hates me too but I can still deal with her it called selective hearing.
As far as the ACLU and NAACP I really don't have a problem with these people because they have a politcal agenda, and I don't play politics I call them as I see them. People think I am a racist because of this mentallity so be it, but I have freinds of all different colors and creeds and I treat them all the same. |

I am an E911 dispatcher and even I have to "fear" liable suits. I do this job because I like feeling like I make a difference...that I help people. If we (anyone in law enforcement) were to strike, the chaos that would ensue would be 100x harder to bring back under control than just to slog through what we can from day to day. Yes, if we were to strike, it would bring home the message in a very pointed way...but we'd be hurting ourselves in the long run when we came back to work. IMHO |
