No, you won't go to jail, but you will be busy for a while. I'm sure you will have a good fine facing you, and you're going to have to get SR 22 insurance. There may be more involved, but that is going to be up to the Judge. Failure to follow the courts order now could cause your license to be revoked, and a possible arrest. |

I would seriously doubt you'd go to jail...but the court may decide to fine you not just for the insurance issue...but for not appearing in court.
To top it off...I'm sure you'll have to pay to have your license reinstated!
Doesn't pay to thumb your nose at the courts!
Best wishes. |

judges do not like to be disrespected. you violated a court order to appear before the judge. he will be mad yes but chances of you going to jail are slim. you will however have a stiffer penalty for your crime. |

not if you called and had it changed - if you have insurance and had it at the time (many companys will back date policies) you just have to show your insurance and ticket to the prosecutor before the court date and it will be waved - but if your not suspended - DO NOT DRIVE YOURSELF!!! |

you probably have a warrant, you should call the court house and find out, if you do get arrested you will probably just be in there until your ticket is paid but everywhere is different |

Probably not going to jail but you will get heftier fines and courtt costs. Plus the court will increase the length of time your license is suspended. |

It depends. More than likely they will just give you a hefty fine. ails are too overcrowded to be putting every single offender in. Just make sure you have good reason why you did not show up for the court date. Also, did you not have insurance at all or did you not have insurance the day you got the ticket. I think you will get a hefty fine and some community service. Then again, it depends on what mood the judge woke up in. |

Yes. There is probably a warrant for your arrest right now. If I were you I would turn myself in before the cops come knocking on my door at 7am. |

When you go to court make sure you have proof of insurance and your new driver's license and you will be okay. |

No, Just make sure you have plenty of cash on hand. There is usually an administrative fee that keeps your bottom out of the can. If you don't have that you might go to jail for a a few days before they can get you bck into the court room. Then they will release you OR. (own recognisance) Unless of you were on probation or parole before. That's the situation I'm in now. |

No. For this sort of thing you are probably looking at a fine and a longer time with no license, UNLESS you have a criminal history, are on parole/probation, etc. |
|

Tree Monkey

no but youll just have more fines and longer time without a license |

If they gave you a new court date, you'd better show up prepared to pay your fine - otherwise you will definitely be staying in the Paris Hilton hotel for a while. |

Most likely they won't. But, you really should accept responsibility for your actions and realize that we are all held accountable whether we like it or not.
Best of Luck! |

You may want to check you state laws regarding your offense. If this is your first time you may end up getting fined and put on probation. Any subsequent ill-behavior may result in jail time. |

No. Just bring proof of insurance and bring proof of the GOOD reason you missed the first court date if you can.
I've had nothing but good experiences in traffic court. I've had to go twice and both times the judges were attentive and listened to all parties involved.
As an example, one woman in court got a ticket for parking illegally in a handicapped spot. She admitted that she had, but her reason was good. She was driving her elderly, disabled mother to an appointment but there was no curbside parking to let her mother out. She parked in the handicapped spot, helped her mother to the appointment, and returned from the building. In that timeframe she received the ticket. The judge said it was a fair reason and dismissed the ticket.
You may have to pay a fine but other than that I'm sure everything's going to be ok. :) |

No they'll probably fine you more for not showing up earlier |

Yes, you are going to be a prison-babykins.
Seriously, you probably have a warrant, call the court and inquire, they will tell you if you do and how to clear it. |
