I did something REALLY stupid when I was 12 years old. I will not go into details. But I got charged twice for the same thing. I came to the police voluntarily .. if that makes a difference? I was wondering if I will still have that criminal record just now and/what age I will be/ was when it went away. I do know some records don't go away but I am certain its different if your 12 years old. I THINK I got referd to the children's Panel but fortunately mum sorted stuff out (because I was 12) and I never heard about any of it again! I need to know this and I need to know if a question comes up in an Application for a job, would I put i HAVE a criminal record or i DONT HAVE a criminal record if it's cleared?

All juvenile records are sealed once the person turns the age of 18. However if your charged and tried as an adult (say for murder or rape) then that will be stuck with you for life. Since your saying that you haven't heard anything then more then likely you weren't even charged with a crime. And no you dont have to include any information regarding the incident on a job application. When an employer does a job check anything that involves you before you were the age of 18 will not show up, unless you were tried as an adult and convicted of the crime (as an adult). So stop worrying, your fine. |

what you should do is go to the police department and have them look up your record. see if that is on there, if it is, then yes, if it isnt then no.
but, to be honest, you shouldnt have it on your record after you turn 18. |

well it depends on what you did...... and since you were charged with it twice mabey its still there... i think you should go to the police dep. and ask them to do a backround check....... |
