Someone called the police on me for harassing phone calls , its false but i missed the court date. Will I lose my ssi because of this ?

If there's a warrant out for your arrest, I'd go TOMMORROW morning, 9 AM sharp to recall the warrant. Then they'll just give you a court date, well, after the Judge asks you why you missed your court date. I know someone on SSI, he lost it when he went to jail, but he was there for several months, when he got out he had to re-apply. But in your case, if you go to jail, it sounds like you will only be there a short time, so I doubt you'll lose your SSI, have someone get your checks & bring them to jail for you to sign (if they allow that - they shoulod just say they need you to sign something), or else have it mailed for you to sign & mail back. But, anyways, I think you have like at least 6 months before the checks become no good, or maybe even a year, so you could just have someone hang on to them for you. |
