Ok well my friend stole a 300$ camera from a local dive shop about a month ago, he went in the other day and the recognized him and called the police. The police came and the shop decided to press no charges and they also said that he could actually come back on the property and still shop there. Nothing was said about a civil demand notice, but the police took down all of his information so that they could finish their police report. Will anything happen to him now? Is it over? Will anything come in the mail? thanks a lot.

I want to know mainly if i civil demand notice will come in the mail?

You could possibly get a civil suit notice, but if the shop owner is allowing him to come back into the store he probably isn't going to file one.

If the shop owner decided not to press criminal charges against him then nothing else will happen criminally.
