Will i get banned from driving? speeding?

i was parked at lights there was an audi behind me, me and audi drove down a dual carriageway we took our cars up to about 60 mph in a 40 zone then i pulled in front of him but behind him the police was monitering his speed they pulled him over then they pulled me and said you was in front so u was speeding your due a court appearance they showed me video in car and they had the guy behind mef or going 76 mph average and said its up to court to decide if u was speeding!

iv got 6 points already and i wont be speeding again i know i was in the wrong so go easy on me!

well of course you will get banned and a hefty fine
You were nearly double the speed limit and as you have a less than perfect record already i would expect about a 2 year ban

You have allready got 6 points, enjoy your public transport journeys. A court will believe the video evidence.

Your looking at a discretionary 12 month ban before you get the points on your licence, which will range from 3 to 9 so even if they don't ban you for the speed, you could be banned for the points.

I don't see why anyone should go easy on you, it's your fault, you should know better especially as you've been caught before.

Enjoy the bus, you don't deserve a licence.

Ultimately we don't know what will happen in court yet.

That aside I don't think you are likely to be banned from driving for that specific speeding offence. Where your problem will arise is how many penalty points the court choose to give you since it is that which might take you over the maximum allowed and lose you your licence.

I've heard the busses in your area are quite good

Fish
You aught to get at least points cos it sounds like you need taught a lesson if you already have six points on your licence. But, it's anyones guess what the outcome will be. Learn from it and slow down before you kill someone

Might as well sell your car now,Too difficult when you are banned,If you cannot do the time don't do the crime.

It really depends on what state you're in. Each state's laws vary as to what will or will not get you banned. Here in California you'd probably be slapped with a huge fine and could possibly have your drivers license taken away for 6mths to a year.

ETA: Don't waste your money on a lawyer. The police had VIDEO TAPE of you doing the crime. That's a little hard to fight. Just go before the judge and say, " ya, I realize I screwed up big time and I'm willing to face the consequences." 95% of society would try to fight the system but if you actually admit responsibility for something, the judge is likely to go easier on you.

I can't say that I haven' t sped but I woke up to the fact that a small moment of selfishness could be someone elses misery. Think your self lucky, attitude, ego and selfishness does not belong on the road. A badge of honour was your licence, it was a responsibility you were obviously not capable of holding. Bad news for this time but great news for responsible road users eh!

You haven't said if you are a probationary driver with a 6 point allowance or a driver with a 12 point allowance. If you are probationary then yes you will be banned as the 3 points for speeding will take you over your points limit however, if you have 12 points to go at then you will have 3 left and will just be fined and licence endorsed.

Well now, it all depends on your state law. Mine, which is NM, states that if you're going twice the speed limit or driving over 100 mph, the state can take your driver license FOREVER. However, I have not check the up to date penal code, that's was the law of the land way back when...

NM allows up to 12 points before they suspend your license for 1 year.

Sounds like to me you're in dire need of a lawyer, who can convince the judge you're sincere about changing your ways.

.. .this can't be good

I don't see where you've given us your age - a lot of times suspension is automatic for youthful drivers. I don't know for sure, but probably it is pretty cut and dry by whatever your state says. The best you can do is show up and accept responsibility and pay your fines and then do as you are told.

normally you will get three points for each speeding offence so another three will take you to nine 12 is the point where you recieve a ban simple arthmetic.
but having said that if two cars are approaching a laser gun it will be very difficult for the police to prove which one was speeding, I think the term the police use is "BAULKED" SO YOU MAY NOT RECIEVE A SUMMONS

ARE YOU BRAIN DEAD. SIX POINTS ALREADY, I'LL BE A GOOD BOY NOW, " I PROMISE".

A good lawyer could get you out of this jam.

Having read through some of my emails recently from the DVLA, I'm inclined to agree with the above comment. Make sure you don't ever fumble a notice.

D.Brent
I think the main risks are, you may be the owner of the vehicle rather than the driver. You may receive one of these notices and for some reason you may fumble the notice, you may lose it before you send it, you may not fill it in correctly. Do that twice... and you'll be banned from driving.
