Will i go to Juvie? What do you think?

Ok so i am a teen boy and me and my girlfriend robbed a couple of stores. She goes in and buys something, gives me the receipt, i steal it, show them the receipt and the clerks thinks i really purchased it. So we have both have the item but only paid for one. But this time we got caught. The worker saw me taking a computer and called the cops. I ratted out my girlfriend to the police and led them to my car in handcuffs where she was sitting. She got out and confessed that we were robbers. So the cops put her against the car, handcuffed her, and took us to jail. We have done this many times before and the cops now know this. So will we be facing time in Juvie. And for how long. We live in California.

You probably won't go to juvie for a first time offense. You will probably be on probation, have to pay fines, and have to do community service. However, it is not smart to admit that you and your girlfriend have been doing this many times when you are in court. Since you both admitted to this robbery just show that you are truly remorseful and that it was a horrible thing to do (hopefully you really feel that way). I hope you learned your lesson!

California law divides theft crimes into two categories, grand theft (pc Â§ 487) and petty theft (pc Â§ 488). In most cases, prosecutors must show that the value of the things stolen is $400 or greater in order to file felony grand theft charges. Important exceptions are the theft of a firearm and theft of something that was carried on the person of another, both of which qualify as felony grand theft regardless of the value of the things taken.

Grand theft is punishable by up to one year in jail or a state prison sentence of 16 months, 2 years or three years in prison. Grand theft of amounts over $50,000 carries an additional punishment of one to two additional years in prison.

Almost all other thefts are petty thefts, a misdemeanor charge carrying up to six months in jail, a fine of up to $1,000, or both. If the monetary value of the stolen amount is less than $50.00 prosecutors may choose to charge you with an infraction, a lesser charge that carries only a fine of up to $250.

robbing like that is not that major but it is serious so maybe 1-10 years so wait and the court will tell you how long.
