Will i go to juvy if i run away?

im 16 and im on probation because me and my dad got into a fight he hit me and i had to go get stiches in my mouth because my lip riped in haif. my best friend whitness the whole thing. we ran and called the cops n ambulance. afther my stiches i was arrested 4 1 day cuz i hit him but in my defence, it was self defence. he was arrested also but 4 only 1 day. hes on probation too. my mom got him out. me and her dont talk cause she is abussive. my dad and i argue non stop constantly and he told me the other day he didnt wnt me to live with him. and i dont eaither. i dont have any other family in texas and so living he was my only option. we are doing family counciling as part of probation but it isnt helping. the police didnt believe me or my friends. i feel like im the enemy and my da says this is all my fault.
my dad smokes weed and does drugs but niether 1 of us have been drug tested yet. i want to run away but im afraid ill get caught and be put in juvy or if i run till im 18 will i get arrested wen 18 for violationig my juvy probation?

Yes you will be arrested if you run away. Your still underage and under your "parents" guardianship. They are in charge of you until your 18 and move out. Good luck.

You can end up in juvy, but only if your parents turn you in. From what you are telling us it sounds like they would. Probation is serious stuff and you need to take all the rules seriously. You could try finding a police officer or counselor who believes you and help you get out. Some cases they will let you be emancipated, but your probation will then go on your permanent record.

do you have social services in Texas? I think you should go and speak to social services, I'm surprised the police haven't referred you directly following the assault from your father.Sorry I can't advise any more, I don't know much about the law in USA/Texas

I saw someone in your similar situation on MTV Juvies. A girl in foster care ran away and she did go to Juvy. Just do the best in school you can and do well so that one day you can support yourself and do better than your parents. When you have your own money and support yourself you don't have to deal with them anymore. Even if they arent doing a good job, they are your parents. you only need them until you're 18. So, do some extra activities at school so you don't have to go home everyday and join sports. If you're good at one of them maybe a school will like you and pay your full tuition for school.

I know this won't be a big help but I wanted to point out one thing. Couldn't you of showed the policemen your lip where you got the stitches to prove that he hit you? Also, if you hit him and he didn't have any outstanding marks on him or stitches...then wouldn't that also prove that it was just for defense? The only advice I can give is to try to take this to court even though you are only 16.

Oh baby girl, I am so sorry for what you are going through. I was abused as a kid also, and you really need a good counselor, because the pain will follow you into adulthood, and could ruin your future relationships. If life gets to hard try to talk to a guidence councelor to see what your options are to get you out of this situation, but please don't run away. You may end up with worse problems, or even die. What I can tell you is that when you grow up, and you have a family of your own, you will be able to realize what you have because you have been humbled by this experiance, and humbleness is the key to happiness. I will keep you in my prayers. Please talk to your guidence counselor, ask him how you might be able to possibly get a guardian at litem. Best of wishes, and life will get better, I promise.
