I just got a divorce but I have been separated for a year and my boyfriend has been living with me for 6 months. He has 2 children and I have 2 children whom I have full custody of, and he has partial custody. I take care of his two when they are with us and I am a stay at home mother. I love these children very much. With that being said I will get to my question.
The other day my "step daughter" told me she was being abused by her mothers boyfriend. She is young but the things she told me and her father were to descriptive to be made up. He is going to the DA's office tomorrow, and I am terrified that while they are investigating they will take our children out of the home until they get to the bottom of it. Both his and mine. I don't know what to do. Should i make him leave so it doesn't look bad on either of us for living together? What will happen? Please I need some answers, none that are judgemental or mean. True answers. Thank you.

I'm sorry to hear this. You guys did nothing wrong, the focus and investigation will be on the mothers boyfriend, and their living situation -- not on you or your family. Best of luck. |

Why would they take the children out of their father's custody? If he isn't doing anything and hasn't been accused of anything, then the most likely scenario is that they will limit the mother to supervised visitations only until the matter can be investigated. Only if your boyfriend is implicated would the children be subject to removal from his home as well. |

There is no allegation made against you nor their father. If anything, you may find yourself with two extra children while they investigate the home of your step-children. |

it all depends on how screwed up the social worker who catches the case is. some of those people are completely crazy.
