Women can't be Cop!?!?!?

I am female and have been a police officer for 13 years. I have handled myself in many situations as well as any male officer. I have never had an excessive use of force filed on me. The guys I supervise have no problems working with me or the fact that I am a female. By the way, yes I have cried after going home form telling a mother her child has died, or from working a death where a small child was beaten to death by his mothers boyfriend. But just so you know, the male officers also cried. I have taken punches, cracked ribs, and hard times and still return to work the next day. I have survived as a female police officer for 13 years so kiss my A##.

well since my wife "is cop", shoots as well as if not better than me, can defend herself and has never "cried", or worried about breaking a nail, I think women can be cops. as a matter of fact, I would take her for backup before I would take 1/2 the guys that are in my department. not only can you not type (bad grammar) you are also, just all around an idiot.

I have many women friends that are cop, and they make a good cop. Heck most of them are as strong as men. Breaking a nail, um, no they can't have long nails anyways.

Oh, and while you're at it, lose the archaic attitude. Women are in combat situations everyday in case you havent noticed. And there have been women on police forces for decades. A woman has to qualify for the force and meet the same standards for strength and agility as do the men. They also are subject to the same mental profiling and evaluation. So while there may be some validity to the strength analogies in the general population, women on the job are decidedly not the stereotypical soccer mom's in the OC. Chances are, you wouldnt want to run up against one of them in a dark alley. Give some credit where it's due.

well, thats a tough statement. u might say that about a women, but what about men in other stuff. Guys dont understand anything, are full of themselves, always have to be in charge, controlling, rude, etc. Theres tons of womens jobs that men do too! The thing is that many girls are like that, but definatley not all. the girls who know tat they're like that dont go into careers like that. however, there are girls with different personlities. women can vary from girly & cute to tough & tomboyish. just as guys range from shy & dorky to muscular & a player. so some guys want jobs many people thought were meant for women. so its just a stereotype. every individual knows what they can handle. so dont be so close-minded! : l : O : ) ok, then.

Not all women are weak , but I do know for a fact , that if a women went up against a criminal man , she would be demolished . All she has is her gun , and that is in a way dangerous . Her last resort will also be her first resort , she has no strenght to fend of men so she would either have to run or shoot . Another thing about female cops is there un-intimitadingness . No one is scared of them . I love women !! But theres somethings they arent cut out for , like men and birth . Or men and gynocologist .
