even though they deserve it, murder is still a crime |

A guy answered that question about 400 years ago.
"I doubt not but it will be objected that it is unreasonable for men to be judges in their own cases, that self-love will make men partial to themselves and their friends; and, on the other side, ill-nature, passion, and revenge will carry them too far in punishing others, and hence nothing but confusion and disorder will follow,…I easily grant that civil government is the proper remedy…." John Locke
That would be judge, jury, and executioner. I little too much for one person to be responsible for. I'm not saying in this particular case, but in general its a bad idea. That's why its against the law. |

Yes you can't claim self-defense when the abuse is on someone else. Unless you are the child. |

Yes. It's not for you to go around killing people. What if you were wrong? |
|

Yes you will. On the bright side, you'll get lots of nice mail in jail. |

Yes; it's not your place to punish wrongdoers. It doesn't matter the reason you killed a person, it's still a crime. |

Unfortunately you would go to jail, charged with murder. The bright side is that you would be liked by other inmates for killing a child molester because they are the scum of the earth even in the eyes of other felons. |

Most likely. Since no one really follows Hammurabi's law anymore, (an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, etc.) It's a bit unethical to kill someone even though you feel like you have a good reason to.
This is the reason why, as a society, we have laws; to keep people in line, and to deal with things as "justly" as possible. |

My sister knows a buddy through her fiance. He is fourty-something years old and just got released from jail last year.
He had been in jail for 14 years for brutally stabbing and killing a child molester. This man is not a bad man if you look at it in a sense that he probably prevented any further harm this molester could have done to more children.
But still, he had to face the fact that he took a life of someone else.
Now, he missed a lot of his youth. But he is looking forward and not dwelling in what he experienced in the past. |

If you mean premeditated murder when he wasn't threatening you, yes. You'll get in just as much trouble as if you had killed Mother Theresa. |

Of course! It's not your place or right to hand out justice. You are not God. Murder is a crime. |

Because murder is murder.
The law has been very clear that vigilantism is illegal. |

because it is against the law. Geeez, the pervert has his "constitutional rights" ya know! Can't violate a criminals "constitutional rights" in this country of ours!! In our justice system today the perpetrators have more rights then the victims!!! do what ya gotta do....just don't get caught! |

Yes, It's still murder.Dont do it. It's not worth living your life in jail. I know it'll be hard but just tell someone...Doesn't have to be anyone you know...Just someone...As long as it helps relief some of the pressure you have...Then when your ready, confront it to someone you DO know. It's up to you but I'd say why put yourself in jail when you could put him instead. |

We are a nation of law and I am glad of that. If we were allowed to kill any and all despicable people we would become anarchistic overnight. I certainly would not welcome anarchy.

Are you an idiot? Murder is murder nomatter how you look at it. The only exceptions to the rule is either if you plead under duress( someone literally made you) out of neccessity ( you killed them in order of preventing a much more serious crime), or self defense against yourself or self defense of a third party. |

Having asked myself the same question I can tell you very rapidly that the answer is YES you can still go to jail for this...
Maybe a grand jury would not indict you or see this as a justifiable homicide...but it is not worth losing your freedom over...
Let the law take care of it. |

Child molesters are just about the grossest people. why anyone would ever do such horrid things to an innocent child.I'll never understand. But I think it's wrong to kill anyone...I guess to break it down. Molesting children is wrong. Killing is wrong. So basically you are avenging wrong with wrong. Why not let the authorities take him down? That way you won't have the guilt or troubles. |

If it wasn't in self defense the answer is yes. You could be tried for murder. |

on forturally you would get in trouble. to your second question is because your not God you can not judge someone and take it in your own hands no matter how horribale it is. My person oppine is to put all child molester in front of a firing squade. but it not my place to make that call. God said that all that we do on earth we will pay for it on judgement day. Now if you can catch tring to hurt a child go for it make sure he is dead and have someone to call the police while you are killing him so the police will know that you was protection a child and say you went in saine. |
