You get hired as a police officer first.
After being a street patrol officer for a few years, you can get transferred to work in a school as a School Resource Officer when an opening becomes available. |

Most if not all departments recruit people for the Police Academy. Check with your local Campus Police Dept., Maybe they will sponsor you and send you to the academy |
