A while ago the Metropolitan (London) police got involved in a 'domestic' situation. I am under 18 and was accused of violence. The accuser presented the police with the 'evidence' of a bruise whereas I decided to refrain from accusations. In the end no charges were pressed against me but my personal details were taken down by the police.
Could anyone please inform me whether this means I now have a 'criminal record' that will come up in any CRB checks or not?

I am considering applying to study nursing or medicine, would the 'enhanced disclosure' affect this and in what way?

No Criminal Record, but it would show on an "enhanced disclosure" with the CRB, these are usually carried out if say you wanted to work with vulnerable people or children unsupervised. |

it will not be on your criminal record but they do retain every scrap of information.
So yes, the police will always know about this but any enquiries from other agencies will not reveal this information.
What they will say is that there is no information held about you in the "personal record" category of your criminal record. |

If you weren't arrested or cited there will be no formal record of the police contact in your file. However, the police have internal tracking and documentation where your information was recorded. It is so that if they are called to the residence again, they can see other calls that have been made and what happened when they arrived. |

You will not have a criminal record, and even so for certain offences this will be wiped clean after 5 years if you are under 18; it all depends on the seriousness however and I am no expert.
As you were not charged you do not have a criminal record, but this information is kept. My name has been taken a number of times for being at the scene of petty crimes, e.g somebody throwing a gas canister around and egging a shop, but as they are not charging you personally (or even accusing you in my case), this will mean nothing but will be kept on the system. |
