i was recently arrested and it seem the police made numerous lies on the police report. a state trooper arrested me and he made false statements with deliberate intent to deceive. He wrote things i said in which i didn't say and also made everything sound 10 times worse then what really happened. why would this cop do this?

He is lying because he is dirty. He is a disgrace to his badge if this is true. This has happened to me before also. Get on the website and go up the chain of command. Just cause you were arrested doesn't mean you don't have rights. If you are on dash cam or his mic then it should prove whatever claims you have. Find the trooper station in your district and ask how to file a formal complaint. It is your right to do so and no one should try to talk you out of it. When I confronted the police department about the police report and the false statements in my situation miraculously the report was rewritten to show the truth. Don't let this happen to you, and don't take it lying down. |

You obviously blew more than the legal limit, so you won't escape prosecution or conviction for DUI. And since you were drunk, your credibility and memory is more in question than the cop's. When you go to court, you will appear silly, confused and incredible if you try to pick at every police statement since they'll have other evidence to impeach you. It's best not to drink and drive, and if you do, accept your fate and punishment like a man, instead of playing the victim.
You wouldn't be the first drunk to accuse an officer of lying. This is why they document everything, several ways, not just in the report...including video and other witness statements.
Hire an attorney if you think you've so wronged. Let them earn their $10,000...and you'll still be convicted. |
