im 13 and my parents asked me to take my brother (who is 10) to the playground. He's in year 6 so he knows his rights and wrongs but at the playground i heard him say to a kid who was about 8 ''give me your money or i'll brake your arm'' i saw the child hand over £5 then he ran of in fear i don't think his parents were there.
When we got home i didn't really bring it up but i asked him if he would ever mug someone and he said i don't know and looked quite guilty saying it.
im not sure if its the first time he's done it but my brother was wearing school uniform so if that kid tells his mum my brother going to be in a lot of trouble with the police probably and he is 10 years old so he is responsible for his crimes.
i really want to sort this out but i don't know what to do. My parents always refused to fight our battles the only way is to comfront him i don't know what to say.

this is what you do...just sit him down say we need to talk and explain to him that its not right and he could probally get into alot of trouble with the police, and he'll get scared..do not yell that gets nothing accomplished. |

Pffft if he gets in trouble then good ... sorry but no matter how old you are you need to learn what things you shouldnt do and the only way to get it drummed into their heads is punishment ... |

The time to do something was THEN. You should have run up and dragged your brother away, apologizing to the other kid.
Immediately tell your parents. They need to deal with your brother. (The whole "refuse to fight out battles" thing is irrelevant here. Your brother committed a CRIME against another child. Your parents need to know this. Tell your brother if he doesn't tell your parents, you will.) |

The answer is simple take him to your parents and take that £5 off him and explain to your mum and dad what he did. Yes he will probably get into trouble for it but that is all part of growing up is to know your rights and wrongs. If you don't he will get worse and end up hurting a lot of people in the long run. |
