Not you live in Iraq. |

It's a punishment because he missed!, not because he threw it. |

Yes! Its wrong. I wish he had of thrown a brick. Ater all the innocent people that have died because of Bush! He should be the one in jail. |

Even though I don't agree with the guy that did it, and though I can SEE why he did it... Yeah, I think time in jail is harsh PERIOD... :/ It's not like he was trying to murder the Former President... He was just trying to convey what he felt and what the rest of his people felt... |

Go on the Guy who Threw it! |

3 years in jail i think he should be sent to a really nice jail and have a team of concubines and servents. Plus he should be allowed to come and go as he pleases. |

yeah totally harsh!
if that was any normal citizen it would be thrown out of court!!!!
why should he b treated differently after all who is George Bush now a nobody EXACTLY!!! |
|

Croxx

Yeah!
It's outrageous - a month if that surely?
In the UK it would be a £100 fine I would guess.
Bush should do something and get this passionate man released ASAP.
Edit - at the bare minimum he should be made to take lessons in throwing shoes more accurately! |

Is it for throwing the shoe or missing the target? |

This is already posted somewhere else today. I'll repeat what I said there, it is much too harsh and he will be a hero, which I think he already was, in his own country. |

I know!! And a muslim peer in the UK who was texting whilst driving, and who's driving caused the death of another person gets 16 days. Justice???? |

You gotta do it, though. It's an international incident. |

Yes very.. I mean its the law I guess but I honestly think Bush deserved it.. I kinda wish he would have gotten hit. Though I have to say he made some pretty good dodges... We found his one talent.. dodging things. |

It would be to us, but it is a grave offense in the Muslim world. It is an extreme sign of disrespect. We don't prosecute assault or disrespect like that in this country, but Iraq is a different story. Their are insults and words in the Muslim world that don't even compare to insults and words in the Western world. |

The west treats Muslims harshly, but not as harshly as one muslim to another. They treat each other like dirt, yet complain about the west.He is a hero to a lot of people and now pays the price |

Teach him not to aim at the head, aim where it will do some damage. |

definitely harsh-- he's already been thru quite a bit in the jail--and now 3 years? He wasn't planning on assasinating him-- Yes -it was a world leader-- but one that caused so much strife. Wonder what would have happened if it was an American throwing a shoe? and what if it wasn't the worst form of insult for Arabs? |

Bush should have been given the BOOT years ago , anyway the guy should get an award NOT a jail sentence |

Nope, he got what he deserved. |

Lucky it was only a size 10.

It was an assault on a Foreign Leader and you think that was harsh! If Saddam was still in control there and that happened it would have been death! |

He should have been shot on site for assaulting a head of state. 3 years is a slap on the wrist. |

No. What an idiot.
If Obama had a shoe thrown at him, libs would want the death penalty. |

As much as I applaud his demonstration, and as much as I disagree with Bush, this guy did attack the President of the United States. That's pretty big. |
