They will do time in a Juvenile Facility until they are 18 then transferred to an Adult Prison...they will meet really "Gangster" in these places and probably will be some chicks girlfriend...their parents better teach them to wash under ware and get ready for some big law suits...

I know I was so glad to hear that they would be charged as adults especially after hearing that the girls involved were laughing after they were arrested and asking if they were going to miss cheer-leading practice. I think if they serve time it will be less than a year but it is good to know they will have felonies on their record that won't be expunged when they reach 18 years old.

we must have some compassion , but , for their victims . They should get the same punishment as an adult

2-10 in a state prison. That is what adults get for assault and battery. No mercy. The should rot in jail and be an example for all stupid teens who consider such behavior acceptable.

some of them are minors..but they all should suffer the fullest consequences that the law allows.This was well thought out and planned and these teens should be punished.It does not matter to me what had happened before.., nor how GOOD they were or were not.It was a cowardly, despicable act and should be made an example of.

I like the life in prison option. I think the law needs to bring the hammer down on minors. The obviously are not getting taught right and wrong at home. If parents have a problem with this, then they should have raise their children with better morals and judgment. I'm tired of society paying for ill breeding and irresponsible child rearing.

I am not sure if teens can do hard time but I'll tell you - the mother of the one teen who keeps defending her daughter's actions should be jailed for sure. How can you defend your kid after something like that??

Throw the book at them! Kids today are worried about whats on the internet. Why who cares if you can deal with put downs at school what are you going to do as an adult. But if you want to detain a person and beat the crap out of them be ready for you to have to deal with the law.

As a form of community service, they should have to go on a one year speaking tour talking about the dangers of peer pressure and teen violence. That would be a tremendous opportunity to change a small part of our society, and more importantly, it would help to change these 8 teens' lives for the better.

they will not learn their lesson otherwise...
they were joking while they were in the cell, and this shows that they are not sorry for what they did even when they were being held by the police...they are sick teenagers..they are criminals who should be locked in JAIL for a pretty long time...maybe then they will understand something...because of them, this girl victoria will suffer for the rest of her life...giving them house-arrest or whatever is just not fair..they wont learn anything from that!!

I think they should be sentenced to a few days in jail just to scare them and then be on house arrest for a while..only place they can go is school and home. That would be very hard for teenagers to do and they will learn their lesson.

In my opinion, the first order of business with these lowlife punks would be to shave their heads, strip them naked and drive them up and down the streets for few hours.

Then try and convict them of assault, false imprisonment, and conspiracy to commit assault. Then send their asses to jail for five to ten years or so.

IMNSHO, the trial should be more like a sentencing hearing than an actual trial since the little buggers make no effort to deny the facts of the case.

I dont think they should be charged as adults. While the beating was really bad it was probably a lapse of judgment on their part. I think they should be punished severely, but i dont think they should have a violent criminal record for the rest of their life for one bad decision as a teenager.

im in the uk so i dont know much about it but they seem really young i dont think young kids should be charged as adults it says classroom beating who did they beat up and how bad was it?
