80's Child

She smuggled drugs in a country that has very strict rules about that. She deserves to be punished. I'm not saying she deserves to die - but I read that article on yahoo about it and people were saying she was a good student, nice girl etc etc. Which to be honest, really pisses me off. Because she's clearly not the saint that everyone is making her out to be. And I hate how these sorts of people then start crying out to the government, pleading for lawyers, and media attention, and protest rallies and begging our government to spend thousands and thousands of pounds to bail them out of a situation that they got themselves into to. And why did they get themselves into this situation?? Because they were trying to get rich quick and cheat their way through life. So why should we help people like that?
In my opinion that woman knew perfectly well what she was doing, she knew the possible consequences of her actions. If the government wants to do something so that she doesn't get killed, then fine. But she deserves to stay in jail. She's guilty. |

I dont think that she should be killed for smuggling drugs. I believe that she should have a fine or serve some time on house arrest or somethign else but death. If they do choose to kill her, at least, wait til the baby is born. |

Foreign Countries do HAVE very harsh laws concerning smuggling of drugs. This is a very documented fact. Sorry for the British woman. She should never have been smuggling drugs in the first place. Her own actions have led to her own demise. Sorry. |

Well that's her own fault is it not! Abide by the rules or face the consequences.
If her scam in Laos had worked would she be bothered by the amount of lives the drugs she brought back have ruined Oh that will be a no then!
Dam Ray your a hard man!
Think Love as this poor woman did. |

It is sad but each countries have their own law and she should have respected it.
Uk will pressure Laos and she will surely come home and be free (which is a shame) And it will be with tax payers money
She should be jailed for years |

if convicted, as President of the United States, I'd ask that the sentence be delayed for one year.
other than that -- nothing. Laos is entitled to it own laws and to properly enforce them. If you don't think that's so, then you have to explain to us why the Taliban and Al-Queda can't make the laws for America. |

It's a question.
I believe she is pregnant as she must have been raped in the Laos prison.
I also believe if she was as foolish to go there and try and smuggle heroin then she must suffer Laos law.
Without knowing the evidence against her I can't give an informed answer.
If she did go there for a quick buck, I have no sympathy. |

You would think even in a backwards third world nation like Laos they would allow the baby to be born first.
Don't expect much outrage from the feminists on this one! |

I personally think that any country with the death penalty is a sick twisted country of violent disgusting criminals who delight in death and pain.
I think she should be sprung from Jail by the SAS and sent to prison for 10 years in Britain. |

so she should face death for drugs so should people in uk for drug use |

It is ABSURD! To kill a human for laws which in this case are actually contradictory to people's right to make choices about whether they want to use drugs or not, is absurd.
The laws of Laos are ridiculous, because they give a government the right to kill, which is wrong, since a law is something which can be interpreted, repealed, age and become obsolete. A law is often simply a fancy of the day, for example: if the citizens of Laos revolt against this law and the government decides, OK let the people use drugs if they want to and repeals the law, this woman would have been killed due to the standpoint of the day.
What I'm saying is that killing by laws is wrong, and against the Laws of Nature. The only killing (execution) I agree with is when someone has killed other human beings.
In this case, the government is apportioning itself too much power. |

Presuming she has been found guilty then i'm afraid its just tough!
She knew the risks, and perhaps as a pregnant lady, thought she was above suspicion and therefore immune to searches.
If that is the case, then the woman deserves all she gets.Knowingly smuggling drugs is bad enough, but to then use an unborn child as a distraction whilst smuggling drugs is just wrong. That kinda blows your "down to god to take ones life away" argument out of the water.
She gambled and lost-thems the brakes..... |

Her pregnancy is irrelevant. If she is guilty and is convicted and that is the penalty then so be it. She should have thought about the baby before she committed the crime. |

Thats a horrible way to die...why such a serious punishment? even if she is convicted, why cant they just put her in prison? |
