I personally don't think that it's wrong to abort the fetus.

It's her body, she should do with it what she wants. The government cannot tell a woman what she can and cannot do with her own body. No matter what you say, it will always come down to that. Should the government be able to tell a woman what she can and cannot do with her own body?

The fetus that is growing in her. Until that baby cries or screams (AKA- taking it's first breath), it is not (under the law) a human being. As of right now, that baby is a cluster of cells that is growing. Those cells are living off her body, if she chooses to get rid of them, then she should be able to get rid of them.

Statements that deal with emotions (such as God will punish you, or what happens after, or even that you could go into depression) are irrelevant. The question is: is it wrong for her to abort? Not should she abort? That last question is one that the woman alone should answer. No one else. It's not defense. The law shouldn't be persuaded by emotions such as these, it should be persuaded by logic and reasoning.

People always say that it's murder. I state again, that the fetus is not a human being until it takes it's first breath. If abortion is murder, then eating eggs is murder too. Where do you think those eggs come from? What were they before they were processed? They, too, were once growing and developing cells. Is it wrong to eat eggs?

Again, no matter what will happen, no matter what the defense says, the main question is: should the government have the right to decide what a woman can and cannot do with her own body?

Personally I would abort. I think it should be her choice. She's the one who will have to live with whichever choice she makes.

Its not the baby's fault she got raped so why rape the baby of its right to live in this world. Perhaps this baby will grow up to love life and or save other lives, she might even find a cure for aids or something. Everything happens for a reason and I don't think killing an innocent baby is the solution, rather more of a weak minded selfish act. Its horrable she got raped but its time to boo hoo and get over it so she can focus on her baby life, not death.

To the girl who says is it fair to be reminded of this for 9 months??? WHO cares.. It's the BABY ( a living breathing sole) we are talking about.. This whole world isn't revolved around women and their rights.. Babies have just as much right! I am so sick of hearing women think everything is about them! It is wrong for her to abort, because the child should not be punished for what an adult did. Surely you are not about to fine the child of a robber because of what a robber did; why should we kill the child of a rapist because of what a rapist did? It is not fair to the child. Is the CHILD the rapist? Is it the child's fault that the woman is pregnant? No, so let it live.

I don't think abortion should be used lightly as birth control, but I definitely think this should be done in this case. I personally know a young adult who was the product of a rape and adopted. But those bad genes from the rapist has ruined her chances of ever having much of a life. She had good adoptive parents, but I can tell you those genes will come to the front.
I have been a nurse for 38 years and seen alot. This is most certainly an abortion situation. We don't need to procreate any more rapists.

it is not wrong for her to abort.. it is her decision but I could argue either side..

1. Pro-Life:
What the father/rapist did was horribly wrong, but it is not the child's fault, why take away his or her only chance at life.

OR

2. Pro-Choice
What the father/rapist did was not the mother's choice, now she and her body will have to go through something that she didn't decide for herself. Even if she were to keep the child but adopt it out, pregnancy is not an easy thing to go through physically or mentally.
Would you want to grow up knowing you're a product of rape? Do you know how many children slip through the cracks of the adoption system, how many never get adopted and live out their lives as orphans?

Seriously, it is NEVER wrong for her to abort - i tis a medical procedure that she is entitled to as a Constitutional right - the Supreme Court said so in Roe V. Wade in 1972. It is no more wrong for her to abort the baby then it is for her to exercise her right to free speech.

Now of course, that doesn't mean she MUST have ana bortion - the beuty of it is, people who want one can have one, and people who don't want one don't have to have one!

when you are pregnaut the baby gets its nerves in a few weeks. so if you do abortio, when they stick that needle into

this situation is less likely to happen these days because of the morning after pill. but i also understand some rape victums might be too scared or traumatized to go in for it.

I think that this woman should decide for herself free from the judgment of class projects like this!

I would not get an abortion personally,

but If abortion were illigal, this woman would probably still be able to find someone who can perform one but it will be dangerous and unsteril. Imagine putting someone through that when they already have been through so much.

No, because it's not fair to the baby. If the girl cannot take care of it, she should at least put it up for adoption or foster care or give the baby to child rescue center. Don't EVER leave it on a doorstep or something, because God knows who could find it and what they will do with it. Abortion is killing the baby, and the mother should be responsible and give the baby a chance instead of just aborting it. I feel that if you the baby - whether your fault or not, you need to see it through. It is not the baby's fault. Abortion also makes you feel very guilty. But now that you have it is that child's right to live.

It is not wrong for her to choose to abort. Really, the only time a girl should never get an abortion is when she chooses to open her legs. But a girl that got raped did not make an irresponsible decision. A baby aborted early enough does not feel pain. It is a ball of cells. That's it.
I do not support abortion. If I got raped I would NOT get an abortion. I am just telling the truth.

HOWEVER, consider this: You meet two little kids. One kid has a loving mother and father. The other child is the product of a rape. Would you think less of that child?? No, probably not.

There is always the option of giving the child up for adoption also.
