Hmmm. I thought life begins at 40! |

A fetus is alive and a human being when it has taken its first breath, then it is no longer known as a fetus, but rather a person.
abortions are such a political topic that no one answer is right. some people consider it murder, while others see it differently.
as for the soul thing, thats left to your own view..... its a personal belief that many have.
if you were a woman who was faced with an unwanted pregancy for whatever reason what would you think? there are greater risks by having the baby then by having a safe abortion with a medical doctor..... |

That's the controversy. When does it become a person? When is the fetal tissue considered human? Pro-life and Pro-choice sides differ when it comes to this issue. Pro-life says at conception. Pro-choice says after delivery. |

Everything lives...is it murder when you pluck a flower? Or cut off cabbage from your garden? Can you tell me 100% these plants do not have a soul?
A bit off the wall, I know....but I am about sick of this argument |

because it is not a living oranism. it is a parasite, not vital (meaning it cannot breathe on its own like you and i). when a fetus becomes vital (after the sixth month) then the abortion is illegal because it can breathe on its own. for it to be murder the fetus must be vital (able to breathe on its own without assistance from the mother). |

It's a living organism. So is a tree slug.
As for a soul. I don't even know that I have one, neither do you. BELIEVING you do and KNOWING are different things.
And even that depends on who you ask. Judaism and Islam don't consider "ensoulment" to occur for 40 days after conception.
In my opionion it's more than a collection of cells at 12-14 weeks when you can detect individual brain activity.
Even so, the choice is between the woman in the mirror and her God (If she has one) Her choice is none of my business. |

Is an egg a human, or only once it has been fertilized? |

It is in Gods eyes. There have even been cases of a person being charged with two murders when a pregnant mother is killed. If that is not ironic I don't know what is. A man on the street can be charged with the murder of an inborn baby, but an abortion doctor cant. |

I believe it is. God will sort it out with all involved when the time comes. |

because it isn't (considered murder) as the fetus isn't an accepted human life in any country (as far as I am aware)
For those that argue that abortion is murder well it is acceptable (legally and morally to most people ) to murder a fetus under current law [as people do not consider it murdering a fetus... it is a simple medical procedure] - that is to have an abortion which some say is murder.
I don't think a fetus is considered a human being at all - when it (he or she) is born alive (born dead is not a life..) then they are considered a human being but at no time before that. |

when the baby is born its considered living but when it is unborn it is considered a fetus therefore it is not murder when a fetus is born then its a human not the other way around |
|

>woohoo<

it's not murder, it's not living in the world independently if it's unborn. simple |

Its 21 weeks isn't it? After that you can't abort, so i guess that a 20 week 6 day fetus is not alive while a 21 week one is... |
