I am in southern Maryland and there is a long dirt road that branches off of the little road where my father, brother and I live in a mobile home park, which I know it leads to the Chesapeake Bay at the end (I saw it on a map). I am 23 and my brother is 24 but we are still unable to drive (don't ask why), and my father refused to drive down the road until I googled the name of it and the only info I could get was a single page that said there was a 230 acre farm/historic house someone was trying to sell down there. I thought this meant it might be opened to the public, so I told my father, and he finally drove down the road. It was VERY scary because it seemed to keep going and there is only one lane with nothing but trees all around. Eventually we came to a fork in the road with an unlocked public access gate on either side, but two yellow signs that said "POSTED: No doing something or trespassing". But it did look like a public access gate, like people could go in anyway. So would we be allowed to go in? I know my dad is nevergoing to drive back down there and it is so long down there and scary that you would have to be crazy to walk. But I am still just curious to know what is down there. Because it is interesting that there is no information about it online.

the name of the road is Massum Eyrie Road by the way (you can look it up on google maps). One time I was even just walking by it down the road that it branches off of and got so scared that I almost ran all the way home, which was a good mile or so away.

Well, that road has my curiosity...it is worth a look, but remember, if it says NO TRESPASSING and you get caught...well...some Maryland cops are known to be pretty rude to "explorers"

I would think that technically, you aren't lawfully allowed (like if someone caught you, and turned you in, you could get trespassing charges) but from the sounds of it, who would know you were even on it?
If you're getting frightened by it, I would suggest staying away. Curiousity kills the cat...maybe check with some locals to see if you can gather information about the place, or go to the library and do some research! Good Luck! |

You are trespassing, what part of do not enter do you not understand? Why do you care what the property is about? If you need to know, go to the county court house and get the owner information. |
