If your entire decision is based entirely on the age to legally drink, then you also have further proof that America is the best nation on Earth by moving to another country that you feel is better. We will allow you to do that. No repression here.
One other point,,,,,if it is THAT important to you, move to New York state. I lived there for 25 years and I know that the legal drinking age is 18.

If the reason you think America is not the best country in the world is because the age limit for drinking is 21, then leave, I don't think we want you here. The unknown fact is that if your an everyday normal citizen who does not cause trouble in the neighborhood then you can do anything in your house - drink, smoke, etc. w/o interference. This is the land of free choice and best weed. |

Drinking requires great responsibility, and I don't trust many 18 year olds to be very responsible. If you're driving in your car with your wife and kid, you'll realize the value of responsibility. You don't want to be doing everything right for their safety, only to be hit by a stupid teenage drunk driver. |

Yes, but it sounds like you're jesting...and then again you have a good point. You can be 18 and enter the WAR, but oooooo you CAN'T drink till you're 21. I mean, ususally in the war you can come home for holidays or they have bars there, but no no, if you're stilll alive during the war and you are 18, you can't have a damn drink to celebrate that, but oh you can suuuuure kill.

That is a stupid reason to hate America. We have many freedoms here that most other countries only dream about. Would you rather go to Afganistan and live under the rule of the Taliban? Opinions are like A$$holes everyone has them. However, count your lucky stars, young one, that you do live in a country where you can speak in this manner without being jailed or killed. I am 31 and I share some of the same though, if we can send our soldiers to war at 18 they should be able to do whatever they want to do. If you really do some research you find that MADD lobbyist got in real good with Nancy Regan( during her anti-drug campaign) to have that law changed. Be mad at MADD not the USA. |

The legality of alcohol should not be your only supporting argument for a theory that the U.S. is not the best country in the world. Have you ever traveled? Especially to a third world country for longer than a month? Live in backwater Mexico, Africa, the Middle East, and you'll kiss the airport floor when you arrive back in the States. That's what happened to me! Be more aware of what you say and think because it doesn't make any sense! |

You can say "it's better than America or it's worse that America" ...but guess what the "bar" everyone else will compare themselves to is America.....like it or not. The day one of your familiy members get hit by a drunk driver you'll probably want to outlaw alcohol alltogether!

Yes-- let us judge all nations by the availability of alcohol to children.
while we're at it, we should be allowed to buy TNT at WalMart and any drugs without need of a prescription. Also we should be able to drive cars when we are eleven and everybody should be given a million dollars when they graduate high school. |
