Anyone been the victim of False Allegations?

Yesterday my world was shattered.

Several years ago my husband went through a very difficult divorce, almost everything including custody was an issue and battle. To make a very long tedious story short, his ex lost most of what she was asking for including the house and all the money she was asking for that he received from his mother's inheritance. IT WAS UGLY.

My husband and I only have his son everyother weekend, although we are legally allowed to have him 3 days one week and 4 the next (our jobs do not permit this) so for stability and normalcy reasons opted for the every other weekend...it also was a way to appease his ex. We are never late with child support and love having his son with us, I especially since I have had several misscarriages and it looks like I may never have children.

For the last year and a half everything seemed to be balancing out, although my husband and his ex still do not communicate. Everything is done through her mother (picking up and dropping off the child). Things have been pretty good.....

Then yesterday, I was contacted by law officials and child services yesterday that my step son only 4.5 years in age made allegations against my husband. In this allegation, my stepson told social workers that he had had "several conversations" about them to ME....

The conversation never occured...not only that, I know the allegations are not true for several different reason:
1. The converstion b/w me and my stepson never occured
2. The weekend it "supposedly" happened...we did not have him
3. He mentions in the interview that the "man spoke spanish" (neither of us speak a second language

. My husband is a great father. He is destroyed right now. I am destroyed...and are now on a road where you are guilty until proven innocent. The only thing I can say is that I would stake my life, my family's and my place in heaven that this NEVER happened.

I am worried b/c based on what I have read 9-10 false allegations stem from a bad divorce. I am worried b/c what if someone is hurting him and he is associating his father to that. I am worried b/c what if another child is getting hurt and my stepson just said "me too" and things escalated from there...I am worried b/c what if his ex is feeding this info to him. I am worried about the effects this will have on my stepson in the future. I am worried about my marriage, because per my reading almost all falsly accused situations cause marriages to fail. I am worried about so many things and I dont know how to handle this. NO one prepares you for this...

HAS ANYONE gone through this....moreover has anyone ever been victimized by one parent against the other? Most importantly how do you heal from this?

Sorry honey, but this crap happens all the time. I started dating a girl several years ago and went through all of this with her ex. My experience included slander, threats and stalking....and he was a cop!

Here is my advice, and it will take some work...keep detailed notes on any conversations/messages you get from her. Get out the divorce papers and demand ALL visitation and rights that you have, follow the divorce decree to the letter, (even when she needs you to keep the child or wants some special time during the holidays/summer) Do this even if it not easy. Then talk to a good lawyer.

Remember this, child services deal with this crap all the time. As much as they screw up, over all they generally do a fairly good job and generally can smell this stinky mess a mile away. The lawyer is just there to make sure everything works out in the end.

Odds are the ex will end up looking like crap before it is all over and will have generated a nice little legal record of doing just this.

Good luck!
